Communication was excellent. Check-in and out were all done electronically and very efficiently. The Inn was well kept, quiet, and cozy.
The breakfast was cold only, toast, bagels, yogurt, fruit, cold boiled eggs, juice and coffee. The rooms were good but doors need some adjustments as our bedroom and bathroom doors were binding. Our door to patio (ground level) was unlocked when we arrived and we could not get the fireplace to work.

Ok, let's be real for a moment. Duck Inn is one of those.. "Wow this would have been nice once" places and don't get me wrong its not overly flawed its just a bit rustic and past its glory days. The room was dated, dark and cavern like but the deck out over the river was a nice space to sit and watch the locals on paddle boards float by. The bed itself was a sleigh style with a large comfortable bed. It had an 80's spa bath which we didn't use. The bathroom was ok.
The room was on a level lower than the reception/lounge area. You could clearly hear foot steps from above which went beyond 1.30am and began again at 5.30am presumably as the staff set up for breakfast. Oh! Breakfast! That was weird! No toast, only one choice of sugary cereal, a homemade strawberry parfait, waffles, or a broccoli frittata. Coffee, no black tea. Wow!
