It's a contactless property, so they just text you a code and your room beforehand. No front desk hassle, which gives it more of a B&B vibe. The breakfast in the morning was also great. Huge balcony overlooking the river and we watched ducks finding dinner. I was traveling with my son and thought he would get a kick out of root beer waiting for him in the fridge. They did it no problem. He felt pretty special. The interactions I did have with the person working there were fantastic. Very personable and attentive. Our room was very clean. It has an old school Montana vibe that I loved and wish there were still more places like this. It's a little bit off the beaten path but still close to downtown. Very quiet at night which was appreciated after a long day exploring.
If you're looking for a resort experience in the heart of the action, this probably isn't your jam.

Quiet and comfortable. Great views of the beautiful river running by the property. Property managers were very helpful.

This is an excellent location and great facility. Even though due to our schedule we could only stay for very short term but had one of the most comfortable stay throughout our whole trip. The entire inn feels very homey with a cozy common are; yet the rooms are separated enough that we felt it was appropriate for a hotel and did not need to have excessive interactions with other guests if we chose not to. The rooms were jn great conditions and the balcony was a plus! One thing especially want to note was the staff and communications. The staff went above and beyond for us in terms of communicating for our late arrival and early departure. They made sure we could have some breakfast food before hitting the road for a long drive and responds to texts request even at after hours to make sure we can have a comfortable stay and have everything we could need. We were very touched by how much they have done above and beyond our expectations, and the careful considerations they put into our stay, to ensure we have a safe and comfortable roadtrip. We would definitely recommend it to everyone to stay here in the future if given a chance and we would want to stay here again if we come around. Thank you to all the staff for all the great work!!!

Ok, let's be real for a moment. Duck Inn is one of those.. "Wow this would have been nice once" places and don't get me wrong its not overly flawed its just a bit rustic and past its glory days. The room was dated, dark and cavern like but the deck out over the river was a nice space to sit and watch the locals on paddle boards float by. The bed itself was a sleigh style with a large comfortable bed. It had an 80's spa bath which we didn't use. The bathroom was ok.
The room was on a level lower than the reception/lounge area. You could clearly hear foot steps from above which went beyond 1.30am and began again at 5.30am presumably as the staff set up for breakfast. Oh! Breakfast! That was weird! No toast, only one choice of sugary cereal, a homemade strawberry parfait, waffles, or a broccoli frittata. Coffee, no black tea. Wow!
