It is a historic old building with grand old touches here and there. It’s got an old timey style that I really enjoyed.
Old buildings have character, as well as idiosyncrasies.
-Our room was tight: the door opened to the foot of the bed.
An improvised workspace counter next to the window was only 6-8” wide which made it too difficult to operate a laptop with paperwork adjacent on the counter.
-A window-mounted residential air conditioner provided heat in our room, but we had to prop a wedge in the fins of the fan so warm air would blow down into the room. The unit needs to be repaired or replaced.
-The antique style of the bathtub/shower was cool but it emptied slowly because the drain was probably plugged a bit from hair build-up.

Perfect direct location! Close to food, shopping nearby attractions!

The updates to the hotel main areas of the room are nice. The bed is comfortable and the rooms are clean. Staff is very helpful!
The bathroom was in very bad disrepair. The sink was cracked, one side of the sink could not be used because I could not turn the handle without it coming off of the sink. The tiles on the wall were cracked. It almost looked like they just forgot to take care of that portion of the room. It is a shame, the rest of the room was very nice. I do still love this hotel, I stay here at least twice a year for a quick get away.

Location and the bed was comfortable.
The bathrooms.
Water pressure was absolutely terrible. No place to put anything. Cable on the TV was terrible. The cast vision didn't work either.

Love the location and charm
The breakfast was disappointing and the room was dirty, trash overflowing, out of coffee and had to ask for refills.. no one managed the area

It's an older motel, so it's a little outdated.

Location was central.
Easy parking.
Afternoon front desk (Cristina?) was exceptional.
Lacking F and B, but could be the volume in November does not warrant it.

Very historic, unique and colorful. Loved the lights all around the rooms. It was very cute
Wish the hall lights would turn off after a certain time, they were pretty bright

Comfy bed, good breakfast. New sink and closet.
Mold on bathroom tile grout- aggravated allergies. Terrible road noise. Super loud air conditioner. Tiny room. Only two pillows per bed.

Being downtown in a historic building
The road noise was terrible. Logging trucks came by and other semis. Small room with a paper thin dividing wall between the neighbor’s room.
HVAC was mostly a windstorm with very little heat. The one window in the room could only be kept open by jamming the ice bucket under it.
Staff didn’t clean our room. No place for suitcases except on the beds.

Close to downtown.
Good parking out back across a street in another hotels parking lot! But close!
Air conditioner had 1 speed High!
Bathroom had no window or fan!
No space in bathroom for anything!
A step up in a bathroom is not very smart. Cold water handle really needs to be tighten to shut off.
Bathtubs height to get in and out of is a hazard waiting to happen.
Some one flushes a toilet outside of the room it’s in creates scolding hot water in the shower. I know the building is old and possibly historic, but needs to be upgraded to get into the 21st century!

Loved the location, walking distance to many food, drinks and shopping in the area. Staff was awesome! Continental breakfast buffet had good options!
Maybe would like to have microwave in room.

The Historic look
The room had a musty smell
5.0 / 10.0
Room was right on Main Street of Washington. ( it’s a historic hotel- I get it). However the noise is constant due to traffic- even late at night.
Traffic noise and the old dated/ dirty - noisy Air conditioner were a combo that made it impossible to sleep.

The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. The hotel was well kept and the staff was wonderful.
Bathrooms were a little small but the hotel is quite older.

The location and the staff were great.
The room was cramped and it had very poor lighting. It was also stuffy.

Love the Historic aspect of the property, staff was friendly and attentive. Great location.
Needs to be updated, peeling paint in the bathroom, carpet has an old smell, A/C unit dirty and lighting in the rooms sub-par, breakfast minimal.

Friendly, efficient staff
Convenient location
Reserved a deluxe king room overlooking pool...in reality, we stayed in a very small, cramped room with a small window facing a brick wall. No view whatsoever....couldn't even see the sky!!
Won't stay here again!

Historic building in central Sonora location is excellent. Free secure parking across the street.
Carpets are old and musty. Bathrooms have vintage tile but numerous holes & patches from previous fixtures. Ceramic coating was peeling off of the tub. Water pressure very low in first room, better in the second. Window-mounted air conditioner was noisy.

The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful.
Our room was on the corner of two very busy streets. The traffic noise lasted all night. Even with the windows closed it was incredibly loud. The air conditioner had to be on, since the windows had to be closed, and it sounded like it was on its last leg. The air conditioner wouldn’t stay set so we had to get up in the night and reset it.
The bathroom is old and needed a serious deep cleaning. The toilet was at a kindergarten height. The carpet was also very grimy. The room was huge but didn’t have hardly any furniture.

Breakfast was nahhhh not what I would call breakfast, we ended up going to McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich. On this trip we only found one place that had a good breakfast. Before Covid breakfast was much better. So disappointed that Hotels are still using the easy way of making breakfast. Wish they would step up their game especially because the cost to stay at Hotels is so much more money and most hotels don't even provide housekeeping. Loved the location and we had a room looking out to the city. What a fun town to stay at. Just a word, when we were down town shopping on of the shop owners ask us where we were staying and she was like Yuck, we told her how much we loved this old hotel and how it had been up dated, and that she needed to take time to check it out. I think it would be a good idea to invite the local shop owners for a night to experience the great hospitality your staff offered and how cool this old hotel is. Thank you
Breakfast, I would not call breakfast. Please step up your breakfast for such a cool location and hotel, use some local flair and really make a breakfast.

Location and pricing
It is Historic and so a little dating was expected. But it simply wasn’t very well maintained. Damaged rusting shower curtain rod, 2 out of three lights out in bathroom vanity, old fixture mounts not patched, dent/divot in wall

Location and historic building. Pool.
Rooms, treatments, and bathrooms need to be updated. Bed was very uncomfortable. No gym, pool area run down.

The location! The history behind the building.
The property needs a lot of maintenance. Renovate the HVAC systems and carpets is essential.

Nothing
Filthy bathroom, front desk that was texting more than helping guests, pool closed because maintenance was ignored

Breakfast was bare bones with terrible coffee.

We love staying in older hotels in historic towns, and have stayed here before and liked it. While it isn't high end luxury, it is reasonably priced, comfortable, and has an elevator The breakfast is fine though not elaborate and the rooms are large enough and comfortable, The staff is courteous and helpful. Sonora and the surrounding Southern Gold Country area of Columbia, Jamestown is wonderful and is is reasonably close proximity to Yosemite as well.
A explanation in advance of where to park to check in (behind hotel) and the actual overnight parking (in the separate motel lot BEHIND the hotel).

Breakfast room was messy, the orange juice was tasting bad and had to wait for coffee.
I have been here many times and I loved the antique furniture and photos. They are all gone !!!
Replaced with cheap pressed wood cabinets and not flattering paints

Asked for extra towels and they were never brought. The bathroom was not clean. There was black mold in the shower and pieces of hair. The beds were not comfortable and pillows flat. Hotel was definitely overpriced for any of this to be happening.

Location was great in the middle of town, classical building, staff was welcoming, breakfast was good, large and comfy bed.
No fan in the bathroom, bathroom was very small and awkward, takes a long time for water to heat up. Plumbing could be better the toilet got clogged easily. The ice machine was always out of ice. The heater/AC unit did not work well, it took forever to heat up the room at all, and it didn't stay warm, had no parking lot you have to get a parking pass to park in neighboring business lots which was about a half a block away. The elevator was out of order and we were on the second floor, there were four floors to the hotel. The building smelt like a stail sweat shirt.

Good location. Decent breakfast.
Room was pretty shabby. Dirty carpet and moldy showercurtain.
4.0 / 10.0
Location was good, right downtown, and breakfast was fine, pretty standard continental. The staff was friendly.
The carpeting was filthy in the halls and our room. There was the smell of cigarette and weed smoke in the hallway leading to our room both days. The room was in need of improvement- the bathtub grout and caulking were gross, the window shudders were broken, the bathroom sink faucet leaked, the beds were uncomfortable, the road noise was very loud, the mini fridge didn’t work, no fan in the bathroom and the bathroom window couldn’t be opened. There was unfinished painting and wall cracks throughout our level with no sign posted excusing or highlighting the work being done. The pool water was very green and cloudy, an obvious health hazard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Attentive desk staff. All necessary booking and payment information was on file when we arrived. Beds and sheets were clean.
The room smell was unbearable, very much like sewer odor. We had to sleep with the window open while running the AC and this barely helped.
Carpets were filthy. Plaster was peeling off the walls.

The evening staff was new but very friendly.
Carpet in room 315 was disgusting.
No closet
No iron
No lamp next to bed
