Wigwam Motel

An iconic Route 66 place to stay for the night, albeit expensive. The wigwam (room) was clean and comfortable. No problem with road noise and east to get to. The pool was clean and great for a morning wake up.

After checking in and we got to our Wigwams, we were quickly approached by a man who seemed drunk who demanded to have their money back, so we directed him to the main office and rang them to let them know, but no one ever came back to us to explain what it was about or to apologise to us, so that was a bit of a worrying experience, It was a shame that there was no coffee maker in the room. In the morning I had to the main office to ask for the pool gate to be unlocked, although the sign said it would be unlocked.

It was a unique place to stay on our Route 66 trip.

We would have preferred to have coffee in our room so that it could be accessed earlier, and the decor seemed dated. The ice machine was not working.

Niche hotel with lots of charm. Comfortable for a one night stay.

A quirky option for travelling along Route 66

The staff that checked us in was quite rude and on a personal call (on speaker) during the entire check in process. I didn't expect luxury, but the room was really hot overnight and the air conditioning was too loud to have going during the night.
