Breakfast was quite good. Food was fresh and satisfying. Breakfast staff did an excellent job of keeping the products ready for guests and keeping the breakfast area clean. Front desk staff was superb, making sure guests had extra towels available with the housekeeping staff celebrating Christmas Day. The hotel was less than 5 miles from my daughter's house in Gilbert, which was very convenient. If I need to stay in hotel in the Phoenix area again (her house was filled with other family members), I will most definitely consider the Gilbert Hyatt Place.
Everything was fine, right down to the parking ringing the building, making for short walks to the entrances regardless of where you parked.

The staff was great.
Rooms need major updates. The furniture was worn, peeling, and outdated. Fixtures were old and in need of repair. Breakfast was non-descript.
