    I recently stayed at this property and unfortunately had a very uncomfortable experience. The room had a dusty, moldy odor, and the bathroom shower curtain had visible mold. The bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly, as there were hairs left on the floor from previous guests. To make matters worse, a large live cockroach appeared in the shower. The bedding felt moist and not freshly cleaned, and the lamps were noticeably dusty. Housekeeping does not provide daily service unless requested, which added to the inconvenience. Due to the condition of the room and my overall disappointment, the hotel refunded me for one night of my two‑night stay. While I appreciated the gesture, it did not make up for the discomfort I experienced. The staff was very kind and professional, which was the only positive aspect of my stay. I typically do not write reviews, but this experience left a bad taste, and I hope this feedback reaches corporate leadership. I have stayed at many Fairfield by Marriott properties and have always had positive experiences — this location in Alabama was an unfortunate exception and needs immediate attention to cleanliness and maintenance.
