It was a beautiful view

The drudger thing in the water that was so damn loud. I want to be able to sit out on the patio in the morning with my coffee and listen to the waves. That thing was so loud you couldn’t hear the water at all and you couldn’t even open the door because it was too loud.

Breakfast was a little sparse, given the pricing, fancy yes, but very limited on proteins. We were told we could get late checkout, we did book two nights, but when asked the morning of checkout, we were told basically no, that the room would be needed the next night. I was kind of like well of course it would be booked, but there’s a five hour lag between checking out and in, we didn’t use the fireplace so room cleaning was minimal. I would come again, but only if the price was right, we got a side view of the harbor, not really an ocean view.

The Beach House is our go to place when we want a relaxing weekend.

The Beach House is our favorite hotel in Half Moon Bay. The location is exceptional with a room view that’s breathtaking. This was our 2nd time and coincidentally both times we’ve stayed In the same room. It’s definitely meant to be and hopefully the next time we’d get the same room again to keep up the tradition. The only negative comment I have would be that the pull out sofa bed needs updating. We tried it just so we can be closer to the screened patio but it’s not comfortable. The mattress pad is so thin you can feel the metal bars. Thankfully the bed is very comfortable. Other than that there’s no complaints.

As I said earlier the only negative comment would be the sofa bed is way too uncomfortable and definitely need to be replaced.

The dredging of the Bay - but that is not the hotel’s fault. It need to be done to restore surfers beach. It was just bad timing that our visit there was at the same time. It was noisy off our deck during the day.

Very enjoyable & a great location for walking!

I like the location & the nice walking trail with views of the bay! I like all the appliances available including a unit for music! I like there are 2 TVs for sitting area & a smaller on near the bed.

I liked our room basically except the noise from the roadways! The rooms weren’t air conditioning so we had to opened the sliding glass doors. The pillows were used too long to the point that some shouldn’t even be used!

The location

No air conditioning. The bed was very hard. The continental breakfast was mediocre. When you advertise oatmeal, it should be cooked not in packets. And it looked like there was a little mold on my bagel.

Great view of the ocean. Horrendous sound from the ocean.

We enjoyed the ocean view from our room as well as the close proximity to restaurants and hikes. The room was very clean and spacious. The morning breakfast was very delicious an had a wide variety of foods including fresh orange juice, apple juice, pastries, spreads, and great tasting coffee. We enjoyed the cozy fireplace as well.

There was only ONE thing that ruined this entire stay and would prevent me from booking here again. There was some sort of marine fuel/pump genertor station 100 feet from shore that ran nearly 24-hours a day! The unmistaken rumble of a loud motor/generator running completely drowned out the sound of the silent ocean view. Perhaps this is the reason why the hotel provided earplugs.

We were very impressed by the spacious bathroom layout.

Ben at the reception desk was very informative and courteous by answering all of our questions about our reservedroom. The breakfast was wonderful and very fresh.

The king mattress was a little too soft. We would have preferred a more firm mattress.

We will choose to stay at Beach House for our future visits to Half Moon Bay!

We traveled with our grand kids so we loved the warm pool and hot tub, we loved the location with just a quick walk to a cute little beach and the continental breakfast was amazing!! We also liked that the room had a mini kitchen and that the couch made into a bed!

We do like a bit cooler room temperature wise and the shower seemed like it needed grout cleaning.

The bed, pillow and blanket was so soft and comfortable! Also love that our room had a microwave and fridge.

I love how the property was right near the water. We had the beach view from our room, it was only a few steps away. It was also very clean and the staff were all so friendly.

That we couldn’t bring our small dog with us, but it was ok. Maybe we need a break from the little monster.

The rooms were wonderful and spacious with a nice balcony and view of the bay. The kitchenette and wood burning fireplace made it extra cozy.
