It was very comfortable!

We visited before but was not told if the open rooftop. What a beautiful view once we experienced it.

We didn’t like not having available room service. Food was good but would like it delivered.

Not as wonderfully clean as we usually experience

We have come back to this particular Holiday Inn because of the location, comfort, friendliness of the staff, and usually because of the cleanliness of the rooms as well. We come to this hotel at least 2-3 times a year for a 3+ night stay.

This is the first time that we are very disappointed with the cleanliness in our room. Each day we would ask for housekeeping. Each day, we would come back to new towels, and yet a room that hasn't been tidied. When confronting the front desk, they said that it is a new policy to not clean the rooms only to change the towels and replenish what is needed. We didn't have a 'dirty' room, it was just that we spilled something and we weren't able to clean everything up ourselves. This is why we asked for housekeeping. They DIDN'T clean up the rest of what we weren't able to clean up. So when it comes to the cleanliness, unfortunately, we no longer can give it the top notch scores like we did in the past. Hopefully in the future, Holiday Inn will get back into cleaning the rooms properly

It was okay.

Overall the hotel and room were clean and spacious in comparison to many other double bed rooms my family and I have stayed at. It was close (6 minute walk) to the marina, food, and shops. Staff was friendly.

The bathroom in the lobby smelled really bad. It was clean but I don't know why or where the smell was coming from. Also, it was really hot in Carlsbad and for whatever reason, they max out the temp in the room. It was really frustrating that we couldn't change the thermostat. Apparently, only maintenance could override it and they were already gone. Couldn't get a fan for the same reason. May not seem like a big deal but with the heat, humidity and our large family, it felt claustrophobic.

There were several teenagers staying at the hotel. At 11 PM, they were still running up and down the hallways. At one point, they banged on our door so hard they rattled the walls and ran down the hall. Called the front desk for security before they finally left our floor.

We had a great stay. We would definitely return. Location is ideal if you want to be super close to the beach.

Hotel carpet and bathrooms need some updates. Hot tub was extremely too hot. Dangerously hot but staff was nice when we asked them to turn it down.

Our son is a marine at Camp Pendleton and this hotel was perfect for our family to just relax and spend time together!

Nice area close to the beach, shopping, food, and marine base. Great location! Plenty of parking, clean, nice pool and jacuzzi too!

The washer and dryers not being on every floor and the dryers didn’t work that great. It took a long time to dry one regular size load.

Our room was close to the freeway off ramp And was very noisy. Hotel was busy so we couldn't move to a quieter room.

Breakfast should be included for the price we paid. Although the hotel is listed as a San Diego location, it actually takes about 40–50 minutes to reach the main city attractions. As someone unfamiliar with the area, I was a bit disappointed to find it farther from downtown than expected. On the positive side, the hotel is located very close to the ocean. However, the walk to the beach is a bit tricky—you have to cross the railroad, and we did encounter a couple of homeless individuals on the way. Still, the beach is within walking distance, which is a big plus.

Great location for a beach vacation.

The lady that works the breakfast area is very friendly, she made us feel very welcome. Also when we arrived on 3/19 the lady checking us in was very professional and courteous.
