Fairfield Inn by Marriott New York LaGuardia Airport/Astoria

This hotel feels brand new. Our room was clean, everything felt fresh and untouched. We stayed in multiple places on this trip and this hotel was the last and the best. What put it over the top was the service. Charlie and Angie at the front desk were not just super friendly but also went above and beyond to help make our stay everything we needed it to be. This was a one night stay that we booked for the convenience of being close to the airport. Anything we needed to make that happen was handled swiftly by them. The breakfast had great choices and was replenished often. The shuttle was easy to maneuver and was very clean and the driver was friendly, helpful, and prompt. It was a little far from the subway but close enough to walk about 10 minutes to some great restaurants. It's right down the block from a mini-mart. We were very impressed.

I reserved deluxe king room, handicapped accessible and with bathtub. I don't think I got that, even though I was told I did. The room was so small we couldn't even open both of our suitcases at the same so I'm sure a wheelchair would t have fit (thankfully we didn't have one) and there was no tub at all. Even though there was breakfast, there was no restaurant or snack bar, just assorted junk food snacks in the lobby and nothing nearby. We walked 10 minutes to the closest restaurant in the neighborhood ( the only one around thus the only choice). It was good but expensive and I'm glad it was still daylight so we didn't have to find it in the dark. I don't feel like I got my money's worth and won't be staying here again.
