Waterfront Timber-Frame Cottage!

Beautiful, super quiet and relaxing

There isn’t access to the water out back

Property was very clean and tidy. Had everything you could need.

There was an odd odor in the cottage and I have a medical condition that really heightens my senses so I had a difficult time with the smell.

The cabin was outfitted with absolutely everything and the bed mattresses were awesome.

it was to bad the space only offered enough space for the one couch. it would have been so much nicer had there been another small couch instead of the 2 wooden chairs or even a arm chair

An attractive cabin, albeit dark inside, in a nice location within walking distance of Ucluelet main town and nice river view from back balcony. The main bedroom and the living room/kitchen area were spacious. The bathroom, kitchen and main bedroom were clean. There were basics in the kitchen such as salt, pepper, oil, tea, coffee, and toilet paper, soap, shampoo in the bathroom. The temperature in the cabin was easy to adjust. Hooks in hallway to hang up coats. Comfy beds.

Ahead of the holiday, I had sent 2 messages via booking.com with no reply, which wasn't a great start. All the towels smelled strongly of damp from the outset, to the point we gave our kids our 2 beach towels from home to use instead. The bathroom itself gets very damp. There were no racks/clothes horses where we could hang the towels to dry once we'd used them, only 2 pegs on the bathroom wall, which isn't enough for 4 people, so we ended up hanging them on backs of chairs etc (it wasn't warm/dry enough to hang them over outside chairs). There's no washing machine, but there's a launderette nearby, though if you're washing anything that can't be tumble-dried, you won't have anywhere to hang it to dry. Other than coat pegs, there was no hanging space/wardrobe in the property, only a chest of drawers, which isn't enough for 4 people staying a full week. There's not an iron either. There was also only 1 mirror in the property which was in the bathroom, which isn't practical for a family of 4 with 2 teens. Cleaning not thorough: there were items belonging to previous guests under the sofa (wheels from a toy car) and one of the beds (hairband and lego) on the landing. The rubbish bin inside the property isn't particularly big, and since we were staying a full week we needed to dispose of it around halfway through our stay, but the outdoor bin for this property is a 5-min drive away. Can the owner/s not come to an agreement with the holiday cabin company who occupy this site to make rubbish disposal easier? Last but definitely not least, despite the comfy beds we hardly slept in this property due to the sound of the lighthouse foghorn which sounds every 20 seconds when it's foggy on the coast. Which was 50% of the nights we were there.
