The Montague Rose Inn & Cafe

Our hosts were excellent- they were warm and friendly and attentive. We enjoyed meeting with and staying at their Inn. Fantastic.

This place was so cozy and charming. I was also contacted earlier in the day from the other owner to see if I needed anything and to ask when I'd be arriving. Upon parking at the Inn, I was immediately greeted by one of the owners. He made sure I was all settled in my room along with making sure I will well situated in St Andrews. The room was clean and beautifully curated. With the main street only two blocks down, it was easy for me to walk over to grab a bite and visit around the town. While it was close to the main street. it was also quiet in the evenings, making it the perfect location. While I didn't get a chance to try the onsite cafe, it looked great as well and I hope I'll get to go back. Thank you for the lovely stay.

The Montague and Rose was beautifully and lovingly renovated. The hosts were warm, friendly and gave fabulous tips on where to go. (Please ask about the gorgeous walk including the extra paths) The location of the Inn was perfect and close to everything.

The location was good, only a 5-minute walk from Water Street. This historic building has a lot of potential, but the Juliet Room is very basic.

Although we were informed a couple of days in advance that the owners would be away, we were assured that a "fabulous" staff member would be there. We saw her for 1 minute on the first morning. There is a Keurig coffee machine in the hall for guests in four rooms to share, but the coffee pods were not restocked, so no coffee the second morning. The shared recycling box was never emptied, and was full when we arrived. There was a muffin under a glass dome with a note to help yourself when we arrived; the same lonely muffin was there when we left after two days. There were cell phone charging stations beside the bed that did not work. The only receptacle available by the bed is a single plug extension cord under the bed, which requires getting on hands and knees to retrieve it. The accommodation was neither welcoming nor comfortable, and I would not stay there again.
