The Montague Rose Inn & Cafe

The Capulet Room was spacious! We enjoyed the extra bed to read on and big beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room decor sweet - antiques with modern touches. My daughter loved the treats in the basket. Ben gave wonderful tips on where to visit (jail was fascinating and my daughter dressed up as judge at the courthouse).

Everything was perfect at the Montague Rose. Highly recommend this lovingly cared for home as your place to stay in St Andrews!

Great location close to town, room nicely updated and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Public areas also nicely decorated.

The old wiring meant there were no sockets and the charging mats provided were unreliable. The WiFi also did not work. We saw no staff members till someone cleaning a bathroom just before we left. No indication of breakfast being available.

Beautiful inn, nicely decorated, has great charm, very well located.

Bathroom was in the hallway for the Romeo room, but we knew this ahead and didn’t mind too much

The location was good, only a 5-minute walk from Water Street. This historic building has a lot of potential, but the Juliet Room is very basic.

Although we were informed a couple of days in advance that the owners would be away, we were assured that a "fabulous" staff member would be there. We saw her for 1 minute on the first morning. There is a Keurig coffee machine in the hall for guests in four rooms to share, but the coffee pods were not restocked, so no coffee the second morning. The shared recycling box was never emptied, and was full when we arrived. There was a muffin under a glass dome with a note to help yourself when we arrived; the same lonely muffin was there when we left after two days. There were cell phone charging stations beside the bed that did not work. The only receptacle available by the bed is a single plug extension cord under the bed, which requires getting on hands and knees to retrieve it. The accommodation was neither welcoming nor comfortable, and I would not stay there again.
