Chipman Hill Suites - Pratt House

The hosts are very helpful, and I like the emphasis the written materials place on hiring staff that may not speak English and are learning the hotel business, and on being considerate of that difference.

The room was very small, and the air conditioner pretty noisy. Seems like an upgrade on the latter is in order.

Beautifully decorated suite in walking distance to restaurants, shops, and coffee bars. The building is from the 1860s, the entrance very stately. The instructions to find the building and how to get in were very clear. Same with parking (has to be booked in advance). The noise from the street wasn't bad at all.

For us, the mattress was too soft, but that is - of course - a matter of taste.

Had everything we wanted, great location and perfectly clean

I like the location because it was close to everything. Check-in process was smooth.

The description of the suite does not match what was on ground in reality. The bedroom is not separate from the kitchen area. The sitting area are all in same room with bedroom and all. When we used the oven and opened it., it triggered the smoke detector alarm and we had to leave the room. It took the intervention of their staff who coincidentally was there to deliver pot to us to help ventilate the room for us to get back to normal. Room not good for heavy cooking. Smokehood not effective for heavy cooking and frying. Smoke detector comes on often.
