We stayed in the cottage, and it was quite comfy. It was wonderful just to walk straight out to the pool, and the dinner there was excellent..
Since the water wasn't very tasty, they had a water station. In the hotel by the spa, it would have been nice to have something just a little bit closer to access. Maybe they do during the summer. This was January.

Super nice staff and the pool and hot tub were very nice. Great to be able to walk to town.
Someone smoking by the hot tub several times. Not the end of the world but awkward.

We have stayed at the Mountain View at least 4 or 6 times before and have loved the stay but thought the hotel was not as nice as our previous stays.
The rooms are clean and love the custom bath and shower products. We have stayed at the Mount View several times before and loved the experience but did not enjoy our stay as much this visit.

I had not been to Mt View in almost 30 years. It is good to know that the same hospitality and charm remain despite the development in the wine country. The breakfast was a surprise and very good. The restaurant recommended was outstanding.
Can't think of anything

Really cute and clean, extremely nice and helpful staff. Loved the simple, delicious continental breakfast & coffee Im the morning.
Low-ish water pressure in shower and the bed was a little soft for my liking, but those are small issues, especially given the overall, very nice experience.

The continental bf was a nice bonus. The location and the lobby was great. The overall condition of the upstairs areas not great. The courtyard ., saltwater pool and mineral hot tub were very nice. Staff was terrific and desk staff very friendly. The spa services were not
available
The hallways were a bit musty and dark, the hallway ceiling was not intact. In the room, the tub grouting is discolored and dark in places and the bathroom baseboards are peeling w exposed wood. Like the character but is lacking adequate maintenance. The lack of dedicated parking is a challenge

Location of property is great, walking distance to whatever in downtown Calistoga
Our room (facing mountain) but next to a run down lot, and some sort of bar with loud music (granted it never went passed 10pm) but still not the best experience.

You couldn't get a better location within Calistoga if you tried. Right in the middle of downtown. Besides that, the old school charm of the hotel is really cool. The pool and hot tub is awesome!
The parking situation is unique. Free parking is technically available but it is street parking at the back of the facility. There is a gate though to get to the building so only a minor inconvenience.
Also the breakfest was more lacking than anticipated because it is just bread, a couple fruit, and coffee. Lastly the walls are paperthin so you will hear everything. They do provide ear plugs to help sleep so thats nice.
Sounds like a lot but nothing was a deal breaker. Great stay overall.

Having tea and coffee in the morning was nice. It was difficult to estimate the time for delivery the day before. I would prefer a breakfast bar setup outside the room available for guests to get breakfast themselves to take back to their room.
There was a lot of mold in our bathroom. I also didn't like the plastic liner of the shower curtain. I think there are better types of shower curtain that don't stick into the shower space and on the person inside.

Perfect location! Nice staff! Loved using the free bicycles to ride on the Napa Valley Vine Trail! Also enjoyed the hot tub and robes provided in the room. Comfortable beds!
We enjoyed the complimentary coffee/tea and sweet breads each morning. However, the only suggestion we had was to rotate the complimentary sweet breads and clementines to something a bit more varied….croissants, muffins, danish. Having it change a bit each day would have been nice.

I love how beautiful it is! The restaurant is so good! There is a Jamaican Chef! The Pork Slider is to die for!!!
The shower had a small leak and they were pretty understanding and assured they would get it fixed! The room I stayed in was ground floor so it was a little noisy.

The property itself was beautiful. The building was very old and you could feel the history as you walked thru the halls and entered the rooms. Even though everything was updated you could imagine what it was like in its hay day. The grounds were well maintained and the pool was small but cute. Being right downtown was very convenient.
The staff was more than accommodating and very attentive. As well as genuinely friendly, which isn’t very common in most places.
Only one thing about the property that stood out. That was the parking situation. There was no onsite parking lot. But I understand that with a building of this age and this type of location.

Location was good.
I paid $1,200 for two nights and the room was the size of a broom closet. On top of that, there were multiple large roaches scurrying about around the pool. I couldn’t even lounge on the edge of the pool with my feet in the water without a roach crawling by.

The preservation of the historic hotel was beautiful. It was a pleasant surprise.
The windows of our room had a view of roof AC equipment. That isn't something that could be changed so, it's not a complaint, but rather, just an observation.

The staff was fantastic and absolutely elevate the experience. Everyone is professional and totally customer service oriented, offering solutions and ways to improve our stay without even asking. The massages at this spa are otherwordly- probably one of the best I've ever had if not the best. The property is historic and quirky with a cool little outdoor theater and great drinks at the attached bar/cafe.
The walls in our first room were paper thin and the hallways echo every little sound. It felt very exposed sound-wise and we were thinking about asking for a room change the next day. Unfortunately our neighbors were fighting and yelling in the night and it was really disruptive. The staff response was stellar. They can't control the behaviors of other guests, but they definitely should put some resources into improving the sound proofing in areas of this old hotel.

Charming, great pool area, nice staff, excellent continental breakfast, clean and comfortable accommodation - if in Calistoga again, I would stay at this spot. I totally enjoyed it.
The rooms are not big, but for the value, they are just fine. Street parking is your alternative; but there was plenty available.

Initially, I was assigned a room of lower quality than what I understood I booked on Booking.com. When I raised the issue with them, they quickly remedied the situation and upgraded me to a room that was higher quality than the room I booked.
Upon checking out, I left behind my phone charger. I contacted the hotel upon arriving at my home and they located the charger and promptly sent it to me. They charged me a flat fee of $25 for the service, but considering the postage alone was $10, I did not find the fee un-reasonable considering the trouble they needed to go to, to return it to me.
Check-in time was a bit late (4 PM) which coupled with a check-out time of 11 AM the next day, meant guests staying for only one night had limited time to make use of the hotel services. Having said that, I was able to check-in early on arrival at 1 PM.
As mentioned above, I was initially given a room of lesser quality than what I booked on Booking.com. The hotel claimed, the room I was given initially corresponded to the booking details sent through by Booking.com. Perhaps there was an error somewhere in the system, but my observation is, given the hotel was quite empty, the hotel might want to pro-actively upgrade guests if availability exists, rather than providing a room which does not show off the excellent rooms which may sit vacant.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located, and the facilities were clean and charming. The staff was very welcoming and always willing to help or provide assistance. Our room was spacious and super comfortable. The whole vibe of the hotel is calm and relaxing. After a long day of driving around the wineries, it is the perfect place to relax. Due to its central location, it makes it easy to walk to any of the local restaurants.
The pool is nice and well maintained. The facilities are in great condition. It has a vintage look, which adds to its charm. The addition of providing coffee and a snack in the morning was a nice touch.
I would like to thank all the staff, who were friendly and welcoming.

Great location. Nice pool area. Welcoming, friendly staff. Have stayed several times at hotel many years ago and enjoyed the rooms we had then versus the room we had this stay.
The room was very small without hardly any decor. The breakfast was coffee, a tangerine and several slices of breads (e.g., banana bread).

The breakfast was great! The location was right downtown, could not have been better. My husband loved the pool which is open 24 seven.

Cute little hotel right in the middle of the town of Calistoga. Felt more like staying in a hallmark movie instead of a chain property. Lovely back area with shady poolside seats.
No elevator so had to lug the bags :) but staff offered to help.
