Beautiful place and really comfortable

Auberge Motel Drakkar exceeded our expectations! It's one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Seriously! You could eat off the bathroom floor. Even the corners were clean. Very comfortable bed, great water pressure, lovely serve yourself breakfast (hot and cold items available), and kind, friendly staff. This place is a hidden gem. A great option for people visiting the Shawinigan area or la Mauricie National Park (it's about a 25 min drive from the hotel to the eastern entrance of the park). There's a Metro grocery store nearby and lots of excellent restaurant options a short drive away in North Shawinigan (we highly recommend Le Trou du Diable gastropub and Pacini, both across from Veteran's Park)

Shawinigan is a French community. The owner linguistic profile does not meet the expectations of the Canadian Government.

It was a place to stop and sleep. That's IT.

Newer Canadian Hosts / Owner's. Very standoffish. I Felt like I was intruding by giving them my money. ( I won't do it again) 1. The smell of the Host's personal cooking. 2. The" free breakfast" should be free. It's worth nothing. ie: 2-3 day old leftovers (I didn't eat anything) The coffee was simply awful ( dumped it in the driveway I drove out and went to Tim Hortons) 3. The rooms are very very basic sparse and cold. Not cozy at all. very soulless vibe throughout the property. No microwaves. 4. The host sees their guests simply as dollar signs... 5. The mattress is entirely foam. 6. The towels are stale and old. Possibly not even washed and dried prior..... 7. Too far away from anything including the beaten Highway. In summary; it appears the host has covertly taken out the meaning of comfort in comfort. With a slight statistics sabotaging behavior
