Gîte Aux Traditions

The property looks very traditional from the outside, inside it remains traditional and you are transported to a mix of Canada, Bulgaria, Greece with a twist of French. It is in the perfect location for exploring the Mauricie National Park and the host Meggie is very kind and welcoming. Meggie has excellent knowledge of the park and gave us a map and guidance as to which areas to visit, which was invaluable as we only had one whole day to explore. We took the option of dinner on both nights of our stay and the food was very nice. The Gite is also less than a five minute walk to the riverside which offered fabulous views of the fall colours while we were there, there is also a really interesting logging museum on the opposite side which is well worth a visit. We enjoyed our stay, thank you Meggie.

We had the suite which came with its own private bathroom, however the shower is quite small and the bed which is very traditional and nicely presented was also rather small if you are 6ft! At the time of our stay the restaurant was only open to resident guests, the first night and morning we were the only guests and had a lovely table to ourselves and really enjoyed getting to know Meggie. However, the next night to our surprise dinner and the following morning breakfast were served at shared table with other guests, who did not speak English and we did not speak French, it would be nice to be offered the option to take all meals separately. Please also be aware that there is also a gratuity of 15% added to the price of the evening meal.

Gemütliches hübsches Zimmer mit großem Stauraum für z.B Kleidung; Gemeinschaftsdusche/Bad sehr sauber. Abendessen (kleines feines Restaurant) war sehr gut; das Frühstück aussergewöhnlich (frisch gemachte Crepes, wunderbare Croissants). Der Gastraum war sehr gemütlich. Die Gastgeberin ist wunderbar: sehr freundlich, sensationell engagiert und informierte uns Bestens über "was immer man" zur Region und dem Nationalpark La Mauricie wissen möchte… ... und die Lage zum Nationalpark ist super.

la ventilation de la salle de bain mérite le coup d'oeil ... Certaines chambres ont des sanitaires communs, ce n'était pas notre cas mais pour ceux qui souhaitent de l'intimité soyez vigilants

Accueil chaleureux, de précieux conseils, beaucoup de bonne humeur et tout est parfaitement organisé. Merci !
