HI Calgary City Centre - Hostel

Very clean and great facilities. Beds very comfortable. Very handy to go to the Calgary Stampede.

Breakfast could start earlier.

Hostel is clean and staff is friendly and accommodating. Location is great too - close to supermarkets and walking distance to the CBD.

The only thing is that the wooden bunk beds can be noisy - nothing that free ear plugs from reception won’t solve

For private room i got everything, in room toilet & amenities.

I think breakfast can be organize better

Everything but the location! The beds are so squeaky you can’t even move without waking up the entire room! Get metal beds! You can’t even charge up from your bunk bed, only one spot in the room to charge up. I hurt myself several times going down from my top bunk squeaky bed. The bathrooms were awful! Just like a public park bathroom, absolutely no privacy when you need to poop in the morning. How expensive can it be to get proper stalls. 8-9:30 for breakfast? Should be 6-10 because some of us have places to be. The guys were respectful in the first two nights, but on the last night, some guy was moaning names all night, and snoring like a pig. No one else was sleeping besides him and we all had a poor night before a day trip and a flight in the evening. Most staff said hello as you came in, some just locked the door as if you were gonna attack them? I paid 175$ a night during stampede but I should’ve been paid for this. I should’ve just befriended homeless people outside for a quiet place to sleep, much better. Hard avoid!!!
