This is my second time staying at this property. It is right on the beach and far enough away from the spring breakers. The restaurant is convenient and has good food and drinks. The staff is always kind. There is a pool, jacuzzi, and fire pits. Everything you need is here.
They seemed a little short staffed in the restaurant but it was still a good experience.

My son's family loved being able to relax right there without leaving, except to visit us, his parents, for Thanksgiving. The hot tub was a hit for his two teen daughters. They also enjoyed being close to stores, restaurants. They found the room comfy, and balcony view of intracoastal nice!
One thing. The desk clerk on our arrival promptly, abruptly, said we did NOT have a reservation or room, and just stood there, like " Take that!" I explained that we, the parents, reserved and already paid for the room, for our son and his family (4), and came with as asked by Marriott in msg. It wasn't until mentioning it was paid for, did she even look on her computer... and made lame excuses as .." last name was wrong" or some such, before locating the reservation, just as we had reserved. Son and family happy. I was angry at our treatment by that one woman, who may need a refresher course. Possible resentment for using Booking.com?

The rooms are pleasant and well equipped. The restaurant staff for the evening service are very friendly. The dinner is good. The outdoor pool with its bar, as well as the direct access to the beach, are very enjoyable.
But...
Two major issues mean we won’t return.
First, although the rooms were fully prepaid in advance and confirmed via Booking (3 rooms, 4 nights), we were asked to pay again for one of the rooms due to a payment issue between Booking and the hotel, entirely unrelated to us. The hotel itself confirmed that the reservation was indeed for 3 rooms, highlighting that this was purely a technical issue. If we refused, we were told we would only have access to two rooms. The only alternative was to resolve their issue ourselves with Booking, which cost me one hour on the phone in the lobby. Making the customer deal with this is unacceptable.
Second, at breakfast, a clearly intoxicated waiter (in jogging suit, not in uniform) served us. He was shaking, spilling drinks and cutlery, smelled strongly of stale smoke, and even had to sit down next to us to take orders because he was unsteady on his feet. We immediately informed reception during breakfast, yet he continued serving us. We later learned he was dismissed the same day, but by then the damage was done. Completely inappropriate for a hotel of this standard.
The reception staff promised compensation for our bad experiences, but it never happened, and the follow-up from management was generic and careless: they did not even ask for our version of events and got our nationality wrong, showing how little attention is paid to guests.
This was my fourth stay in Daytona Beach in a hotel of this category—the first and last in this one. I have never had a similar experience elsewhere.
A shame, as the hotel itself is nice, but the management is very disappointing. With a better customer policy, the rating could have been a 9.
