I think the rooms were very cozy and old school in a good way. I am from out of town and was worried this would be a dingy hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really think we got our money's worth. Friendly staff as well.
I wonder if they will ever add mini-fridges. We wanted to save some food for later. One of my friends got the impression the staff may not always be on the same page about policies a little bit, but not the end of the world.

location was where we wanted to be, near Union Square and the BART station.
snippy desk woman who warmed up over the time of our stay; reminded me of my sister. Very old hotel, which we knew. Fine for a short stay, clean enough, easy walk from the BART station.
