Location. Breakfast. USB outlets.

Charged for parking. Total rip-off. Include it in the price if you're going to charge. Management sent unsolicited texts asking how is it going. Don't send me texts unless I agree to them in advance. My opinion costs $50 for my time.

Very Clean!

They couldn’t give me a refund when I gave a well in advance notice about my child being sick. It was unexpected and I had to leave immediately. Its not like other guests where we made excuses to get refunds! But I wasn’t expecting this from Hampton! I may think twice before booking here now.

A truly wonderful hotel

The hotel offers great comfort for the price, and the staff truly make the experience special. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. P.s. A special thanks to Emma at reception -- she was absolutely wonderful: warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly.

Simple, clean, and cozy area outside the crowded downtown

Easy to access, very clean, lots of space

The card access for the parking garage is placed on the left side of the entrance which sometimes made it hard to enter if someone was leaving at the same time

It was a wonderful stay.

The property is well kept. But the employees at this location is what makes it exceptional. All the employees were very helpful and kind but I must say that Raul at the front desk truly goes above and beyond. This man should be given a promotion for his work ethic and attitude alone. We have traveled a lot and have NEVER come across a more helpful and kind employee. He truly made this stay special. Thank you Raul. You did not go unnoticed

We LOVED how dog friendly they were ! And right down the road from Del Mar dog beach !

There was nothing wrong with the property and we really enjoyed our stay. There was extremely rude and disrespectful children at most hours of the night and early early morning screaming but that’s not the hotels fault. That’s inconsiderate parents not watching there kids.

Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Enjoyed breakfast every day. Visiting family that live near the hotel, so was very convenient for me to stay there. I have no complaints about my stay at the Hampton.

Needs to work on checking in process, unfortunately this is not the first time.

When checking in, there were 2 staff and 2 monitors at registration center. I had to wait until they finished one reservation because the second staff member was not doing anything other than waiting for his system to reboot. I believe he gave me a BS answer. One of the keys was not functioning on the keyboard.?? I’ve worked with computers for over 50 years and never experienced a keyboard failure like this that could be fixed by a reboot.

Wouldn’t return or recommend

Undergoing major renovations and was not notified. Had called property several weeks before stay to ensure washer/dryers on site and was confirmed. When got to property they were not able to be used bc of construction. Didn’t get service on our room, they tried at 445 pm after we had just returned from fields all day trying to shower. You have to pay 12$ per day for parking—there was a homeless guy in the underground garage smoking out of a bong. The property was not worth the $. You can get way nicer places for same $

Nice stay but wait until remodel is complete

Very nice breakfast with a variety of options (oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, yogurt, fruit, waffles, & different breads). It was nice to see the type of potatoes, eggs, & sausage changed daily. Room was very comfortable and I liked that we had a walk-in shower rather than a shower in a tub. Location was also very nice in that it was right near the freeway, which made getting places really easy. The staff were in general very nice and tried to help where they could.

As others have noted, it is disappointing to have to pay separately for parking. I could care less if the room price were bumped up by $12/night but it bothers me to see it separate on the bill. Though they are in the middle of a remodel, that wasn't much of an issue, though it may have contributed to the uncomfortably warm room temp in the breakfast area. The separate charge for parking, remodel, & warm breakfast room are the reason for the 8 vs 10 on my rating.

Breakfast was excellent. There was a nice selection of food available.

Provide free parking for guests. The lobby was being remodeled so there was a temporary check-in table. The table had room for two clerks but was staffed by only one. It took a half hour to check in.

Even though parking was only (!) $12 a night, compared to other hotels, parking used to be free. Most people have cars, and if we’re already paying to stay, why tack on another cost?!?!
