DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston - Cambridge

Great location

The room was amazing and clean, and the staff was amazing as well! The check-out is at 12:00, which was perfect for us.

No shuttle to the airport, location was near Harvard (20 min walk); however, to the centre you need to transfer quite a few times using public transport.

Checking in and checking out was easy. I enjoyed the view of the river from the 15th floor. The bartender at the restaurant was especially nice and professional. The food in the hotel is expensive, but good, especially the breakfast buffet breakfast. Make sure you go when the Jazz club Scullers is open. Also apparently the top floor restaurant requires a reservation. Finally, the hotel is within walking distance (1/2 a mile) of Harvard Business School and has a shuttle as well.

The food could have been more affordable. Also, beware of steam from the shower setting off smoke alarms.

The property was clean. The property was close to our destinations. There were nice accommodations, but it was open for only for breakfast and dinner.

Let me say I don’t normally give negative feedback but this was deplorable. Two days in advance I let the hotel know that our airline had changed and we will be coming in late.. I gave them the exact time of our arrival. Upon our arrival, the lady at the front desk did not understand the new system that was established by Hilton. Saying welcome to not not Massachusetts, but rather “Tax-sachusetts” Consequently, she deleted my reservation, which was established with bookings that I would pay at my stay. we did not receive the room that I had booked for we actually had booked a River) view room. We ended up with a room that was the most noisiest room that I’ve ever stayed in. Therefore she informed us that we would have to pay for our room upfront in its entirety. That wasn’t the only problem. The problem was in her processing everything she froze our bank account we ended up having to use different banking. Centers in order for us to get into a room mind you that we were standing at the front desk after midnight after I had called the hotel twice on two different days to let them know exactly what was going on. To make matters worse, we were able to purchase a room she gave us our keys, but did not tell us anything about our floor concerning how to operate the card key to get to our floors on the elevators. We had to figure everything out on our own.. we were sorely disappointed in the treatment. The only highlight of our state was the concierge from Hilton, who was kind enough to just nice enough to allow me to receive my Hilton’s reward points..
