    Great location just off the highway for a fast overnight. Welcoming staff, comfortable beds. The breakfast isn’t very good but that’s common in these types of hotels.

    Checked in on the afternoon of 23/11 after driving from Vancouver. I’m a tourist here and produced my foreign drivers license as ID. The receptionist then asks for a Canadian ID and an address in Canada. I asked how that is possible seeing I don’t live here. She replied that I would have an address here, and not a foreign one. Reading the reviews of other foreigners it is clear I am not the first foreigner who has stayed at this hotel. She then tried to dig for further information about why I’m in the country, eg work etc. For context, I’m a white almost middle aged Australian who works in law enforcement, travelling to meet my partner who is visiting her family here. However, I don’t have to justify my need for a room overnight at a cheap hotel whilst en route to another city to the receptionist. If she felt my booking was a nuisance or suspicious, she should have just canceled the reservation and refunded my booking. Seems pretty easy to me. She doubled down on the lack of professionalism by her extreme lack of basic hospitality by telling me “I need a signature here and other details here.” Where on earth do these people learn how to speak to people like that. How about using some basic courtesy and professionalism by asking either politely or neutrally for these things rather than insisting you need them., to turning a simple request into an unnecessary impolite demand. Who on earth do you think you are. Moreover, the entire lobby, elevator, and hallways reeked of cannabis. There was also a lot of bird excrement around the property that hadn’t been cleaned (or likely noticed). Maybe you should focus on cleaning and professionalism and dispense with the uneducated behaviour. Worst hotel I stayed at in Canada. The room itself was adequate and breakfast was fine for the price and location.
