it was a great experience when we stay at HI Banff, there’s a free transit pass, and you can see some elk family roaming around area. maybe we are just lucky to see them, lolz. All the staff were so nice and helpful, higly recommended

They place is clean and neat with full featured kitchen and a good value cafe. They even offer free local bus passes.

The location of the hotel is ok, it is located on a quiet hill far away from Banff town. You either walk from the town centre to the hostel for 20 minutes or talk bus number 2. The hostel will offer you a free bus pass that will get you most of Banff town center and surrounding attractions (excluding lake Louise, Johnston canyon and Canmore), which is good enough. The kitchen and dining area are clean. The lobby is very cozy. I stayed at the upper level of a bunk bed with 5 other people, and therefore earplugs are a must because you will always hear noises outside and inside the room. It is one of the cheaper option for Banff travellers but it’s not very cheap.

Consider expensive for a room in hostel. Should pay slightly more for a hotel room. However, hostel provides complimentary shuttle bus tickets to and from downtown.
