    Great choice for our first visit to Gibraltar. The hotel has clearly had some investment with even more to come! (The addition of a gym will be a great plus.) Pool area is particularly serene and where we spent a lot of our time. Staff were fantastically helpful (but at time could probably do with a few more!) Steep climb back to the hotel didn’t bother me but some might find it a challenge. Would definitely come back.

    Spent one night here and would happily stay again. The two photos are the view from our room and the view from breakfast (included and worth it!). The lobby has hundreds of photos of famous people who have stayed as guests which was fun to see. The dining room is lovely and the whole hotel was exactly what we needed.

    The Rock Hotel in its day must have been a first class place to stay as the pictures on the wall of all the famous people who have stayed indicate. However its a bit dated now. The rooms are basic and the decor in the corridors especially the carpet are very dated. The best bits are the bar area and restaurant and there is also a large swimming pool but its actually across the road. The staff are very friendly and the food and drink prices are quite reasonable. The biggest downfall is the area. Its up a very steep hill and the best bar and restaurant areas are approx 20-25 minutes walk away. We tended to walk to the centre but get a taxi back. Overall it was ok but wouldn't stay there for a long holiday.

    This place has probably seen better days. Extremely overpriced for what it offers. The only thing that is exceptional are the views. Everything else feels like a disappointment. Cleanliness below average (smudged windows, soot on the floor, especially on the balcony). Facilities that have not been renovated since the prime time of this hotel, probably around the times when Princess Diana and John Major visited, whose photos are prominently displayed close to the lobby, along with other high profile guests from old times. Staff is condescending and seems overworked. Overall, not worth it, try another place if you can.
