A fantastic peaceful stay in a beautiful country setting which had all we needed to be very comfy!
We really needed some R&R after a hectic schedule, and this was the perfect place for that to happen. We had peace & quiet so could listen to the birds before sunrise and the owls at dusk and through the night, and again at first light (different owls at different times). We picked blackberries from hedgerows and apples that had fallen across our way from local apple trees. The local shops were about half hour walk away, but there was also a bus. The bed was comfy once we pulled it away from the slanting (very romantic cathedral ceiling) wall. I sleep sitting upright, (can't lay down due to physical disability) but this worked fine. The views across the valley and hills are fabulous and I also got to say hello to some geese! The one thing that didn't work so well was the shower, which the landlady told us about and was awaiting a plumber to fix the leaky shower chain. The bath looked terrific, deep & wide, but I couldn't make use of it. I might have gotten in but wouldn't have been able enough to climb out again! Our landlady was very helpful and friendly... the lodge had a warm cosy feel to it and we had everything we needed, plus some!
As a disabled person I would have appreciated power sockets I could reach and not need to bend down to access.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the last few days. The hosts were lovely and we were pleasantly welcomed. We had no issues at all! The property has a lovely view so breakfast and evening views are lovely.

We spent a very nice week here, but the cottage did have its drawbacks.
Views from the property were wonderful. Pleasant open plan living room/kitchen. Kitchen appliances were good. Downstairs toilet useful. Owner very friendly. Walks from the doorstep.
Lack of privacy with walkers passing inside the garden area (on permissible paths) - and no net curtains. Sloping ceilings upstairs means you can't sit up in bed and the shower is restrictive as well. Shower temperature control was not working well - and it was difficult to avoid getting water on the floor. Approach road is a challenge sometimes.

A excellent week away in a fantastic holiday home.
I had a excellent week staying in silver birch, the house provides everything 2 people could possibility want. The home is very modern and clean and the host extremely welcoming. I will be looking to return soon!
