About this house rental
Besides 2 bedrooms, upstairs there is a kitchenette with a table for 3-4, and a sunporch with beanbags.
Upstairs we have a mini-split for both AC and heat, downstairs has central heat and a floor-standing AC unit which keeps our place pretty cool in the summer—it is on a thermostat, feel free to turn it down as needed.
Also, we are set-back from a neighborhood arterial road with some through traffic. Guests with extreme noise sensitivity may be affected (1 complaint in last 6 months), although we have storm windows and curtains and very thick walls which minimize the noise.
Our Colorado Springs Permit # is A-STRP-26-0163
This is a whole historic house, only the attic-level addition is still under renovation and thus not listed yet as a 4/5 bedroom house. There is a fenced-in backyard with playground area and ground-level grill in the backyard are for the exclusive use by Airbnb guests.
The Cheyenne Canyon neighborhood was developed in part to house the families of mid-level managers of the Broadmoor Hotel in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Given the age of the neighborhood, there are lots of mature trees nestled between historic homes. There is also a neighborhood-serving shopping area with an ice cream place, ACE, public library, a Chinese restaurant & vegan bar.
The neighborhood is well served by buses providing transport to both downtown and the Broadmoor Hotel.
A mini-split for the upstairs offers precise temperature control for the upstairs master bedroom. Downstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans with adjustable speeds. Upstairs full bath has a tub while the downstairs full bath has a shower.
We ask guests to please stay out of the fenced-off spring/pond area as we are trying to establish sensitive aquatic and riparian plants in that area--but feel free to enjoy bird-watching from the far side of the fence!
