Welcome to the Red Roof Hideaway
Escape to the mountains at Red Roof Hideaway, a newly renovated four-bedroom retreat tucked away on five private acres in the Devonwood neighborhood of Boone. Peaceful and surrounded by trees, this spacious home offers the best of both worlds: a private mountain getaway that is still just minutes from everything Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock have to offer.
With room to comfortably accommodate up to 10 adults, Red Roof Hideaway is perfect for family vacations, App State weekends, ski trips, girls’ getaways, couples traveling together, or a relaxing weekend in the High Country.
A Home Designed for Gathering
The main level features a spacious, inviting dining room with seating for 12, beautiful hardwood floors, and plenty of room to gather after a day exploring the mountains. The cozy family room provides another comfortable space to relax. The lounge has a game table that is perfect for Mahjong, cards or puzzles as well as 2 oversized arm chairs. A Mahjong set (or 3) can be provided and set up with tables upon request.
The kitchen is designed for people who actually enjoy cooking together, with an island, generous prep space, premium appliances, and plenty of room for everyone to gather. A separate dining area makes family dinners and group meals easy.
Step outside onto the expansive deck and enjoy the peaceful wooded setting. With comfortable seating and a grill, the deck is the perfect place for morning coffee, afternoon drinks, dinner outside, or simply listening to the sounds of the mountains. There is even a double hammock for afternoon naps under the canopy of trees.
Plenty of Space to Spread Out
The home offers 4 traditional bedrooms + kids' bunk room + queen Murphy bed in the office. Each bedroom features comfortable bedding and a new mattress, making it easy to settle in after a day of hiking, skiing, shopping, or exploring Boone.
The primary bedroom feels like a private treehouse retreat, with a wall of windows overlooking the surrounding trees. The king size bed and TV make it a great place to escape. The attached bathroom was designed to feel like a spa with a soaking tub, beautiful built-in cabinet closets and a double head shower. 3 additional bedrooms provide comfortable queen beds, TVs, and peaceful wooded views. All 3 additional bedrooms have access to a full bathoom.
A lower-level family room gives everyone even more space to spread out, making the home particularly well suited for families and groups traveling together. Also on the basement level you will find a pool table room with a TV, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms the 4th bedroom and kids bunk room.
Because of the home's layout with 2 sets of stairs and a raised deck, it is not ideal for groups traveling with crawling or toddling little ones. We do offer the bunk room for a group of adults traveling with kids but the home is not ideal for very young children. Let us know if you will be bringing a group with kids. We can offer a high chair, booster seat, and pack & play.

There is a locked mechanical room in the basement that you can access in an emergency only. There will be a key on top of the door frame if you need to access the electrical panel or water shut off.
At this time the garage is not accessible for parking but you can access it through the house if you need to get to a broom or the vacuum or to take trash to the large receptacles. Please do not park in the garage or open the garage doors.
Enjoy the flat yard and deck. The surrounding woods are steep and unmaintained, so we ask guests to stay on the level areas.
