The Oak Room takes its name from the old oaks shading the garden out front, and the whole suite follows their lead. Warm tans and soft browns carry from room to room, so the space feels grounded and easy the moment you set your bags down. It sits on the second floor of The Lofts at The Market, right above Paso Market Walk in the middle of town, and high ceilings give every room a little extra breathing space.
The living room is big enough to actually spread out in, with plenty of space to put your feet up after a day on the back roads. A dining area sits close by for takeout, a picnic spread from downstairs, or a slow breakfast before everyone heads out. The kitchen keeps things simple and useful with a microwave and a beverage fridge for keeping drinks cold. Two bedrooms give everyone their own corner: one with a king bed, the other with a queen. One of them also has a makeup table, a nice touch when you're getting ready for a wedding, a dinner reservation, or a night at the fair. Both bedrooms share a spacious modern bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Step downstairs and Paso Market Walk brings coffee, casual bites, and a leafy garden right to your door, along with a restaurant set inside a restored 1890s Victorian on the same property. From here the rest of Paso is easy to reach. Downtown City Park and the shops and restaurants around the square are about a ten-minute walk down Spring Street, and the Paso Robles Event Center, home of the California Mid-State Fair each summer, is a similar stroll in the other direction. Tin City and the glowing hillside installations at Sensorio are a short drive away, the open hills of wine country start just past the edge of town, and when you want the ocean, the coast at Cambria is roughly 40 minutes west.
