About this house rental
Welcome to your home away from home — a wonderfully characterful 1890s Victorian townhouse in the heart of East Molesey, just moments from Hampton Court Palace and the River Thames. Sleeping up to 10 guests across five generous double bedrooms, this is the sort of house where family get-togethers can properly spread out.
The Space:
Inside, there’s plenty of Victorian charm to enjoy, from herringbone parquet flooring and soaring ceilings to ornate cornicing and huge sash windows. The grand double reception room has two enormous sofas either side of the fireplace, giving everyone somewhere to collapse after a day exploring Hampton Court. And with four full bathrooms plus a separate WC, the morning bathroom queue should, thankfully, be kept to a minimum.
Being an 1890s home, however, it comes with nearly 140 years of character — and not everything is perfectly straight! You’ll find the occasional uneven floorboard, older doors and little imperfections that come with a historic, lived-in family home. This isn’t a pristine new-build or polished show home, and it doesn’t pretend to be. The quirks are part of its charm, but we like guests to know what to expect before arriving.
Outside, there’s a huge private garden for sunny afternoons and evening drinks, plus parking for up to three cars at the front. Downstairs, a basement utility room with a washer and dryer keeps things practical, although the remainder of the basement is private and not accessible to guests.
And then there’s the location. Hampton Court Palace is practically your neighbour, the Thames is nearby for riverside walks, and East Molesey has plenty of cafés, pubs and restaurants to investigate. Whether you’re gathering the family, celebrating something special or simply fancy living like a Victorian — albeit with Wi-Fi and considerably better plumbing — this is a pretty memorable place to call home for a while.
