About this house rental
Samastiti Villa by the Beach is a four-bedroom beachfront villa on Bali's quiet north coast, ten minutes' drive from Lovina. A 1,000 square metre garden of frangipani and palms runs down to the black-sand beach, with a 15-metre L-shaped infinity pool, a beachside gazebo, a firepit and sun loungers facing the sea. The pool is partly covered, so families can swim in the shade.
The villa
Four ensuite bedrooms sleep 8, and four extra beds bring the villa to 12 guests. The master bedroom has 4-metre ceilings, a desk with ocean view and a stone bathtub overlooking the sea. The ground-floor king bedroom opens straight onto the pool. The two twin bedrooms upstairs have partly outdoor bathrooms with rice-field and mountain views. The open-plan living and dining area is built with local stone and teak, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors onto the veranda, a full kitchen with a new oven, a large-screen TV with HBO Max and Disney+, and 100 Mbps WiFi from Biznet. There is a small gym, and an infrared sauna shared with our neighbouring villas. A massage table is ready for in-villa treatments.
The house is furnished with antiques collected over the years: a Chinese-inspired daybed under the stairs, Dutch colonial armchairs, six traditional shadow-theatre figures over the dining table and coloured Arabic glass lanterns in the first-floor lobby.
The area
Samastiti sits between rice fields and a working fishing beach in the village of Temukus. Sunrise dolphin boats leave from the sand in front of the garden at 6 am, and the captain can add a snorkel stop on Lovina's reef on the way back. Menjangan Island, waterfalls and temples are easy day trips, and two restaurants and a small minimart are within walking distance. Lovina's supermarket, cafés and live music are ten minutes away by car.
Our team
A team of three looks after the house, pool and garden every day, and can cook dishes from the in-villa dining menu. We arrange airport transfers, drivers, private yoga and tours, and send a full arrival guide before you travel. Cot, high chair and a small play area are available on request. One well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement.
Good to know: all Bali beaches are public and local families enjoy the sand around sunset. The villa is a tropical home by the sea, so expect the odd gecko, a few leaves after rain and the occasional gamelan from a village ceremony.
