Detailed Property Information:
The Newton-Gibson House was built in 1892 by Reverend Charles Newton. After his passing, his three daughters remained in the home until the Gibson family purchased it in 1995. The main house and cottage were restored at that time and served as a physician’s office for 30 years, providing care to tens of thousands in the local community. Following the passing of Dr. Gibson and his wife, the house was fully renovated by their daughter and her family.
The main house is now home to a select group of local businesses.

Originally, The Cottage served as the summer kitchen located at the back left corner of the main house. As the three sisters found no use for the extra kitchen space, they transformed the cottage into a creative area where they frequently wrote and painted. It is lovingly referred to as Athens' first "she shed."
