About this house rental

Summary:

Step into the heart of Chamonix’s history. This unique apartment is part of a family home built in 1957 by Alphonse Bossonney—a legendary mountain guide—and his sons. For decades, this house has stood as a quiet witness to alpine life, and today, you have the rare privilege to experience it.

The Space:

Two Bedrooms: One with a double bed, the other adaptable as two singles or a double

Bathrooms: A renovated bathroom with a spacious shower and a separate toilet

Living Space: Bright and welcoming, with a dining table, cozy lounge, and a small game corner. Step onto the traversing balconies for breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc massif and surrounding peaks. (Please note: the fireplace is decorative only.)

Kitchen: Fully equipped with modern amenities, a full-size fridge, and a charming coffee nook overlooking the mountains

Parking: One private parking space included.

Guest Access:

The apartment sits on the second floor of the house, with no elevator. The entire floor is yours—no neighbours above or beside you. Check-in is fully self-service, via a keypad lockbox.

The Neighborhood:

Just a 5-minute stroll from Place du Mont-Blanc and the main bus station, the apartment offers the best of both worlds: central convenience and serene, residential charm. Here, you’re close to everything yet surrounded by the authentic spirit of Chamonix.

Getting Around:

From Place du Mont‑Blanc, everything unfolds at your feet:

Weekly Market (Sat, 7:00–13:00): Savoyard cheeses, charcuterie, fresh produce, and artisan stalls fill the square.

Events & Animations: Race villages, world-class sporting moments, and concerts bring the valley to life year-round.

Walk to Everything: Cafés, restaurants, bars, shops, and services radiate out from the square.

Ski Buses & Valley Transport: The Place Mont‑Blanc stop and main bus station connect you to all ski areas—Brévent, Flégère, Grands Montets, Le Tour, Les Houches—plus Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers.

Cross-Country Skiing: Access the Bois du Bouchet Nordic loops and 50+ km of valley trails right from town.

Hiking Routes: Grand Balcon Nord/Sud, Plan de l’Aiguille–Montenvers, and Lac Blanc via Flégère are classic routes starting from the center or a short lift ride away.

From morning market baskets to twilight concert notes, Place du Mont‑Blanc is the valley’s heartbeat—calm when you want it, connected when you need it. It truly doesn’t get any better than that.

Other Things to Note:

"This is more than a stay—it's a chance to live a piece of Chamonix's story. The interior has been fully renovated for modern comfort, while the exterior keeps its original 1957 character—this is a genuine slice of alpine heritage, not a rebuild."

Interaction with Guests:

The apartment is managed by Pangea Services, a local concierge company based in Les Houches, at the heart of the valley. Their team is available before and throughout your stay to answer any questions, help organise activities, and make sure everything runs smoothly — from arrival to departure.
