A NEIGHBOURHOOD BASE IN VALLECAS A private apartment on Calle Mendívil, in Puente de Vallecas, for up to three guests. A separate double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room provide the sleeping arrangements; the third guest sleeps in the common living area. KITCHEN AND BATHROOM The kitchen has a hob, microwave and fridge for preparing simple meals. It has no oven or dishwasher, and there is no washing machine. The bathroom has a shower. TEMPERATURE AND ACCESS Air conditioning is in the living room, with gas heating and a bathroom towel heater. There is no independent air-conditioning unit in the bedroom. The apartment is on the ground floor but is not adapted for wheelchair users. Building passageways are shared with residents. THE AREA AND TRANSPORT Puente de Vallecas is a residential district of Madrid. The apartment provides a base for everyday routines and journeys around the city; it is not in the historic centre.
