Manori's Homestay

Such a fantastic homestay, I ended up extending my stay to 4 nights because I liked it so much! The location is great, close to everything but sufficiently far up the hill to be quiet and relaxing and have amazing views. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed, breakfast was very good and always included fresh fruit from the garden (you can get Western or Sri Lankan, just tell her what you prefer), and I also got a delicious papaya juice with papayas from the garden as a welcome drink. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful and on my last evening, I had a cooking class with her and learned how to make traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry, which was delicious. If I ever come back to Unawatuna, I will definitely be back!!

The way up the hill is quite steep so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues, but for me it was absolutely worth it for the calmness and views.
