Summary:
Four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms for up to eight guests: two king rooms and two twin rooms with two single beds each, so everyone has a proper bed. The house has a living room with TV, a dining table, a well-equipped kitchen with an air fryer, a private garden with a barbecue, and off-road parking for two or three cars. The University of Southampton's Boldrewood campus is about 12 minutes on foot.
The Space:
Sleeping
UK bed sizes: a king is similar to a US queen, and a single to a US twin.
King room one: king-size bed.
King room two: king-size bed.
Twin room one: two single beds.
Twin room two: two single beds.
There are bedrooms on both the ground floor and the first floor. Linen is on every bed when you arrive, and every guest has towels and starter toiletries.
Bathrooms
Two full bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. Features: walk-in shower; bathtub with an overhead shower; freestanding tub.
Kitchen and dining
Fully equipped for a group of eight: oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, air fryer and a coffee maker, plus cookware, plates, cutlery and wine glasses. Everyone fits around the dining table.
Living room
Comfortable seating and a TV for film nights after a day out.
Outside
A private back garden with outdoor seating and a barbecue.
Everyday practicals
Wi-Fi and a desk, a washing machine, an iron, hangers, heating, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a first aid kit. The house is new and spotless, guests tell us.
Travelling with children
Children and babies are welcome, and the twin rooms suit them well. There is no cot or high chair, so please bring a travel cot if you need one.
Bringing your dog
Up to three dogs can come, as long as they're well behaved. Bring a dog bed from home. A pet fee applies.
Good to know
The road is quiet and residential, so we ask for quiet from 10 pm. The city centre and the waterfront are best reached by bus, taxi or your own car.
Staying longer
The laundry, desk and parking make a longer work stay or family visit easy.
Guest Access:
Guests have the whole house and garden. Arrive between 4 and 9 pm and use the lockbox; leave by 10 am. Two or three cars fit on the drive at the front; please don't block the neighbours' driveways.

The house is in Bassett, a green residential area in the north of Southampton near the university and the Common. Walking times: Southampton Sports Centre 5 minutes, Bassett shops 9, Boldrewood campus 12, Highfield campus 19, Southampton Common 21. Driving: Bedford Place in 8 minutes, the station and WestQuay in 10, the cruise terminals in about 12, Ocean Village in 13 and the New Forest in 22. Paultons Park and the forest make great family days out.
Getting Around:
Local buses serve the city centre and the university. Southampton Airport Parkway station is about 9 minutes by car, Southampton Central about 10, and the M3 and M27 are nearby.
