About this cottage rental
A characterful reverse-level cottage set by the River Wenning in High Bentham, this is a welcoming base for families and friends who want comfort and space after days outdoors. Footpaths fan out from the area, and you can head into the Yorkshire Dales for classic limestone scenery, with Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside all within 13 miles. The Forest of Bowland (21 miles) offers peaceful moorland and far-reaching views, while the market town setting offers everyday essentials. High Bentham has a choice of local shops, a well-stocked convenience store, independent retailers, including a butcher, bakery and grocers, plus several pubs, cafes and takeaways, a traditional fish and chip shop and a tourist information point. Described as ‘a Diamond of the Dales’, Bentham Golf Course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities – tee off on a scenic 18-hole golf course in the foothills of the Three Peaks.
Inside, the ground floor comprises three en-suite bedrooms and a handy cloakroom with WC. Choose from a twin room with two single beds, a double room with a super-king-size bed, and a spacious family room offering one double bed and two single beds. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor, where the generous lounge invites you to unwind with comfortable sofas set around a traditional open fire. Adjacent, the country-style kitchen includes a breakfast bar that is ideal for relaxed dining, while a separate dining area seats up to eight for leisurely dinners and board games. Patio doors here frame the rural outlook and connect the social space with the outside terrace. Throughout, the thoughtful reverse-level design ensures the main living areas make the most of the views.
Outside, patio doors open onto a terraced seating area that overlooks the surrounding countryside, with a landscaped garden to enjoy. During your stay, you have access to a shared games room and a shared play park. Parking is available.
