The Sitooterie sits close to the B7020 between Beattock/ Moffat (5.5-9 miles .miles) and Lochmaben (6.3 miles). Perfect for a pet-loving pair, this luxury glamping lodge is in the quiet settlement of St Ann’s, amid the verdant scenery between vibrant market town Moffat (9 miles) and Lockerbie (11 miles). The location is perfect for those who plan to explore Dumfries and Galloway, with the spectacular Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall 17.5 miles from the doorstep. Stock up on supplies in Moffat, Scotland’s first ’Walkers Are Welcome’ town, then follow the Annandale Way as it winds towards the Solway Firth – the route joins the Southern Upland Way briefly at Beattock (5.5 miles). Take a romantic day trip to Gretna Green (27 miles), famous for the Blacksmith's Shop where runaway lovers historically tied the knot. Alongside an immersive museum and courtship maze, there are tranquil sculpture gardens to enjoy here.
Park and unpack at your own pace, walking through the garden and past a covered seating area before carrying your luggage straight into the welcoming super-king-size bedroom. Soft seating and SkyTV make this a room for real relaxation, while a door to the right leads into a chic en-suite shower. Another door from the bedroom leads into a unique kitchen/dining/social space which blurs all the lines between indoor and outdoor living with the added luxury of underfloor heating. Equipped with the essentials for simple self catering, it features a clever fold-back canvas door covering which, when shut, makes this fabulous area completely windproof and waterproof. Ensuring you can pack light, a washing machine and tumble dryer are situated at the back of the property.
Enjoy al fresco food and refreshments alongside scenic views as you unwind in the all-weather social space, or take a seat in the garden with the fire pit ablaze for after-dark ambience. For the ultimate in laid-back luxury, there’s a hot tub on the far side of the lodge – look out for the Northern Lights as you bask in the bubbles.
