About this cottage rental
Part of a clifftop development above Watergate Bay on the North Cornwall coast, this two-bedroom apartment has views stretching across 2 miles of sand and far out to the Atlantic. The clifftop position makes it a natural fit for families, couples, and surf enthusiasts seeking active beach holidays, with watersports and coastal walking right along the shore. The beach is 250 metres below, exposed to Atlantic swell and popular year-round with surfers, kayakers, and kite surfers. A surf school on the beach offers lessons in surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and kite surfing. From the clifftop, the coast path leads to Newquay's seven bays in one direction and Mawgan Porth in the other, with miles of dramatic clifftop walking in between. Surf competitions and music festivals run throughout the year. A pub and restaurants sit along the beachfront, and the property backs onto peaceful, open fields.
With living space on the first floor to capture the sea views, full-width sliding glass doors open onto a generous balcony. The open-plan space has a barrel-vaulted ceiling, a dining area with table, chairs, and banquette seating, and a well-equipped kitchen at one end. A cloakroom with WC completes the first floor. On the ground floor, the master bedroom has a super-king-size bed and a single truckle bed, with a TV and doors opening directly onto a private patio. Its en-suite bathroom includes a shower enclosure, a freestanding double-ended bath, and WC. The second bedroom has a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as a super-king-size double or twin, a TV, and its own doors to the patio. An en-suite shower room has a shower enclosure and WC. A utility cupboard houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. The full-width first-floor balcony has a table, chairs, and sun loungers with views across Watergate Bay.
At ground level, a patio area provides additional outdoor space, and a store room with a wetsuit rack and outdoor surf shower is available for drying off after the beach. Two electric vehicle charge points are available in the development car park, shared with other guests. Designated parking is provided for one car.
