Stretching from Union Station to the south and Q and R Streets NE to the north, this rapidly developing area attracts forward-thinkers.

Cross-pollination and creativity thrive in NoMa – which takes its name from its location on the city grid north of Massachusetts Avenue NE – and Union Market. While there has been significant new construction, the region`s industrial infrastructure of warehouses and historic storefronts has attracted an influx of contemporary businesses to complement its history.

Tens of thousands of people pass through Union Station every day. Innovators like Gallaudet University, the nation’s first college for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and National Public Radio call this part of the city home. Union Market, which has existed in one form or another since 1871, caters to couples, kids and chefs alike with its mix of restaurants, kitchen supply retailers and gourmet shops selling spices, meat, bread and more. Take a quick look around and you`ll realize that the spirit of the market extends far beyond a single-building infrastructure. Businesses have popped up all over the Union Market industrial zone, including an Angelika movie theater, Masseria (a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant from chef Nicholas Stefanelli) and La Cosecha (a contemporary Latin American marketplace). The urban proving ground that results is ripe for trend-setting explorers.

For International Women’s Day in 2015, LA-based graffiti artist Mr. Brainwash created a heart-filled mural at Union Market that has quickly become one of the neighborhood’s most Iuploaded images.

The second-busiest Amtrak hub in the nation, Union Station is situated along Massachusetts Avenue NE.

You can find Capital Bikeshare stations near NoMa and the Union Market District or hop on the eight-mile-long Metropolitan Branch Trail here, which goes all the way to Silver Spring, Md.

LATE CHECK OUT FEE: $200. While we understand time can get away from us all, our cleaners do only have a few hours to clean, sanitize, and return the unit to the condition it was found in prior to the next guests arrival in a few hours. Late check out puts the next guest check in at jeopardy and costs us addition fees as the cleaner is paid to wait for the property to be vacated. Thanks for the understanding!

**Unauthorized Pet fee of $500 will be charged if necessary. While we are animal lovers and have a Viszla puppy ourselves, guests with sensitivities and allergies can ensure our home will be a comfortable stay.
