About this apartment rental
Located within a heritage-listed residence with access to a shared cobblestoned garden, this apartment combines Richmond character with a warm, gallery-inspired aesthetic. Originally home to celebrated Australian designer Norma Tullo’s fashion showroom and later her private residence, the building carries a distinct creative legacy and elegant Italian-inspired character that add a sense of history and personality to this retreat.
The stylish living area flows seamlessly into the kitchen and dining space, creating an easy setting for unwinding. A velvet lounge and TV offer a cosy place to unwind after a day exploring Melbourne, while the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with a Nespresso machine, French press, dishwasher, oven, stove and generous preparation space for home cooking. Enjoy casual breakfasts at the bar seating or gather around the dining table for four before stepping onto the private balcony for fresh air.
The bedroom continues the apartment’s relaxed tone with one queen bed dressed in crisp linen and practical storage. The bathroom includes a shower, bathtub and thoughtful essentials for easy daily routines, while a private laundry with a washer, dryer, iron and drying rack adds convenience throughout your stay. A dedicated study provides a quiet work-from-home setup with reliable Wi‑Fi and a calm atmosphere for focused days between outings.
Guests also have access to a shared garden reflecting the property’s historic setting and quiet residential feel. Split-system air conditioning and heating are located in the living area, with additional central heating helping maintain comfort throughout the apartment year-round. Free on-site parking for one vehicle in a residential garage makes it easy to explore the city.
Please note that the apartment is located on an upper floor and accessed via four flights of internal stairs (approximately 34 steps). There is no lift, and it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Construction work is currently taking place adjacent to the building, resulting in potential noise during the day.
During your stay, you will have the entire apartment to yourselves, including access to the communal garden. Please make yourselves at home!
Richmond places Melbourne’s sporting, dining and cultural highlights within easy reach while still offering a distinctly local neighbourhood feel. The apartment sits moments from the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Melbourne Park, making it an ideal base for major sporting events, concerts and tennis tournaments. Walk to riverside trails along the Yarra River or spend afternoons exploring the cafés, wine bars and restaurants lining Swan Street and Bridge Road. The CBD is only a short tram or train ride away, with the nearest tram stop just steps from the apartment and East Richmond Station an easy stroll away. For slower mornings, leafy residential streets and nearby parks reveal a quieter side of Richmond despite the central location.
Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
The property is equipped with basic sundries to help you settle in, perfect for a short visit or to kickstart a longer one. While we don’t replenish these items, we recommend bringing some extras or picking up what you need locally.
Guests will not have access to the letterbox. If you’re expecting any mail during your stay, we recommend having it sent to the local post office for pick up.
