R&R Lakehouse-Peaceful Lakefront Rural Setting Between Palatka and Gainesville

Forget your worries at this serene lake house getaway! Relax with your toes in the sand, lounge on the large back porch, or cast a fishing line on the private dock located on 370 sq acre Cowpen Lake. With the backyard facing West, you will experience beautiful, picturesque sunsets most days. An inflatable paddleboard, two adult kayaks and two childrens kayaks are available for guest use. Nestled down a short dirt road, it is located under 30 minutes to Gainesville heading West or to Palatka heading East.

This 4-bedroom house in Hawthorne is perfect for families or groups. The home features 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 3 twin beds, along with 2.5 bathrooms. Guests will enjoy an open concept between the kitchen, dining and living areas. There is a study/work area with shelves housing dvds, books, games, and puzzles. Roomy kitchen has stainless appliances including double oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and two coffee makers (Drip and Keurig), along with other odds and ends small appliances kept in the lower cabinets. Living room has two couches and two recliners. Spacious primary bedroom suite has a small sofa, a twin hideaway bed, a large walk in shower and a walk in closet. The upstairs loft is geared for our younger guests with a small tv with dvd player, bin of toys and activity table. Enjoy the lake view from many areas inside the home, or the full length lakeside porch with ample seating for gathering. There are three sliding glass doors to access the porch: One in the kitchen, living room and primary bedroom suite.
*The home does have steps inside (steps in the living room and stairs to the loft) and out (steps to different porch areas and on/off the porch).

Quiet setting with friendly yet reclusive neighbors. There are no fences so you may have a dog or cat visitor, as well as docile wild life during your visit.
*No pets are permitted as guests during your stay, including ESA's. No parties or events permitted either.

Bring a float and tie up to the dock for a relaxing day on the water. Don't forget your fishing gear! Brim, bluegill, sunfish, catfish, bass and gar have been caught off the dock. Horseshoes and bocci ball are available for beach use. In the cooler months, enjoy a fire by the beach and toasting marshmallows.
