Other things to note
**Location and getting around**
The home is in Everett, about 25 miles north of downtown Seattle (35-50 minutes by car, depending on I-5 traffic). If you're flying in, Paine Field (PAE) is only 10 minutes away.
A car is recommended for getting around the area comfortably, but there are many great restaurants and gems within a 10 minute walk - our favorites are The Net Shed or Fisherman Jack's.
One garage parking space is included with your stay though most prefer the convenience of parking on the street.
**Check-in and access**
This is a self-check-in property. You'll receive the entry code and garage instructions in your confirmation message. Check-in is any time after 3:00 PM; checkout is by 11:00 AM.
**Stairs**
The unit is on the main entry floor and requires no stairs to access it.
**Neighborhood and city context**
Grand Avenue is a beautiful historic residential street in a working urban neighborhood. It's walkable to downtown Everett and the waterfront, but you'll see normal city life including a mix of older homes and apartment buildings. Everett is a real city, not a resort district, so you may encounter urban elements typical of a mid-sized town.
**Noise**
There are active BNSF rail lines along the waterfront, about half a mile away. Train horns are audible from the unit on occassion. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or use the white noise option on the bedroom fans.
**Weather and amenities**
We do not have air conditioning. The Pacific Northwest is generally mild, but we do get warm spells in July and August. The unit stays reasonably cool due to its lower floor location and bay breeze, but we provide fans for each bedroom.
**Smoking and events**
Smoking is allowed on the balcony or sidewalk in the front of the home. There are absolutely no parties or events allowed. To respect the other tenants in the building quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
**Shared building**
This is a four-unit building. We ask that you be respectful of neighbors in shared spaces like the garage, laundry room and entryway.
