About this house rental
This 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom home sleeps up to 4 guests comfortably.
Location
Located in the heart of the New River Valley, the house sits on a private road within a small waterfront neighborhood of about a dozen homes on the upper portion of Claytor Lake, just a couple of miles upriver from the Lowman's Ferry "Lighthouse" Bridge. You're minutes from the New River Trail State Park, about 40 minutes from Virginia Tech and Radford University, multiple golf courses within 25 minutes, and roughly 4 miles from Camp Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. Located just 8 miles away are Iron Heart Winery and the Salty Stash Distillery. Whether you're here for a summer lake getaway, fall foliage, a Virginia Tech football weekend, Radford University graduation, or a quiet winter escape, or just need a place to unwind and recharge for a few days this setting delivers year-round.
Outdoor Living
The lakefront is all yours to explore, with full guest access to the house, decks, and private dock. The dock is exclusively for Blackberry Bungalow guests and sits in water 4-5 feet deep, ideal for swimming, and a sandbar about 40 feet out keeps passing boats clear of the dock area. Guests are welcome to tie up their own boat at the dock or use the shared kayaks and paddle board located near the dock. Waterside features 4 Adirondack chairs located around a wood burning Solo Stove. On the cottage deck, outdoor seating includes a table for 4 plus two lounge chairs, and a charcoal grill is available for guest use.
Indoor Living
The bedroom is furnished with a luxurious king-size bed for a restful night's sleep after a day of adventure. The bathroom is well-appointed with modern amenities, and fresh towels and complimentary toiletries are provided for your convenience. The open-concept living area flows seamlessly between the living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen — the living room's queen-size sleeper sofa brings total sleeping capacity to 4 guests, with a flat-screen smart TV for winding down. The kitchen comes stocked with plates, drinkware, and cookware, plus a toaster, and coffee maker (both regular and Keurig). A laundry room with washer and dryer is also available, stocked with basic cleaning supplies like a broom, mop, and detergent.
