About this cottage rental
Tucked away on a peaceful part of Claytor Lake, Paddles & Pours on Claytor is a completely renovated charming waterfront cottage. It is the perfect retreat for those looking to unwind and recharge. Wake up to the sounds of nature, watch deer, herons, eagles and osprey wander by and soak in the beauty of the lake. Great for a couples getaway, anniversary, Virginia Tech/Radford University events, romantic getaways, working remotely.
COTTAGE:
1. Kitchen: stocked kitchen with everything you should need including Keurig coffee maker, toaster, microwave, wine glasses, pots/pans, wine/bottle opener, scissors, lighter.
2. Family Room: large couch and 1 chair with a 50" TV for streaming, and board games.
3. Full Bathroom - custom glass-enclosed tile shower, toilet and vanity. Towels, toilet paper, hair dryer and hand soap provided.
4. Bedroom - Queen size bed and dresser.
Deck: great area to relax overlooking the lake with 4 chairs.
Screen Porch: perfect place to eat with table and 4 chairs, 2 rocking chairs and 2 seats overlooking the lake.
GENERAL: Free WiFi, fire extinguisher, smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector, towels/linens.
A digital keypad offers access to the front door. WiFi with excellent connection and speed for working remotely. Fire pit for making memories and s'mores (Please bring wood).
There are 2 stand up paddle boards available for your use.
There is easy entrance to the lake where you can walk in. There is a sand bar about 40-50 ft out from the dock that prevents boats from the main channel from coming near the dock which makes it wonderful for swimming.
Pet Friendly for a pet fee, but NO cats allowed due to owner allergies.
There is an abundance of wildlife including deer, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, bear, fox, snakes, herons, etc...
We currently offer another listing on VRBO of a neighboring waterfront home with 5 Bedroom and 3.5 baths and another cottage next door with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bath. If you are interested in booking either of these cottages and for additional space please look at our additional listings or contact us.

I travel solo from Northern Virginia to Radford for work frequently. Last minute I decided to stay on Claytor Lake (30 minute drive from Radford) to enjoy the beautiful spring weather we’ve had. I rented the cottage and it was the perfect choice. The owner sent me clear check in instructions ahead of my trip and even let me know the cottage was available earlier than originally expected. The property is beautiful, you can tell the owners love this place. Plenty of room for a single person, couple or family with a small child. Other than your personal items, they provide anything you may need. I cooked dinner/breakfast with no issue. The large screened in porch was the best part for me. I was able to draw and enjoy my coffee before work without missing out on the lake. Check out instructions are reasonable and were sent to me well before my check out time. I can’t say enough good things about this property and the owners! Truly a hidden gem. I will definitely be back!
