About this farm stay rental
Our home sleeps 10 people comfortably. We are 5 mins drive to the village of Tramore and 12 mins drive to Waterford City, recently voted by the Irish Times as the Best Place to Live in Ireland.
There are so many things to do in the area from the beaches to the mountains, wonderful walks, great food and nightlife.
Tramore is a 5 minute drive away and has 4 supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Supervalu) and lots of cool cafes and restaurants. Tramore means “Big Strand” and stretches 5km along Waterford’s Atlantic coast. At the eastern end of the bay the beach is backed by the popular holiday spot of Tramore with its promenade and various amusements in the summer months. It is a popular spot with surfers and kite surfers and the National Surf Life Saving Training Centre is located here.
Upstairs there are 4 double rooms each with their own ensuite bathroom. 3 of the bedrooms have views over the stunning garden with views out across the countryside.
There is also an upstairs sitting room.
Downstairs is the 5th Bedroom and there is wheelchair access with a ramp to its own front door and widened doors into the bedroom and bathroom and easy access into the kitchen/dining room via the double glass doors.
The kitchen is bathed in sunlight and features a 3 metre island and patio doors outside to 2 raised patio’s overlooking the garden. The dining table seats 8 and can be extended to seat up to 12.
This leads into a lovely conservatory, the perfect place to put the feet up and read the newspaper or a good book and it gets wonderful afternoon sun.
There is a lovely downstairs sitting room with wood burner and it a lovely cosy place to watch a movie or just chill out.
The grounds of our home are really wonderful and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the garden. We have 2 ponds teeming with goldfish, an outside fire pit and seating area, an outdoor table for 8, a round outdoor table beside the BBQ and a Airondeck chair with footrest.
The huge garden is wonderful for kicking a ball around and there are lots of sunny spots to enjoy the fine weather.
There is parking for 4 cars and a gate you can close over at nighttime.
We also have a cottage "Tadpole Lodge" in the lower garden which we also rent out to guests. It has its own access via the lane to the side of the house so please do not access the lower garden past the beech hedge.
For larger groups or extended families, it is possible to rent the entire property out - the link to Tadpole Lodge is here:
The Waterford Greenway is 5 mins or 6km cycle from the house and covers 48k track along an old railway line linking Waterford and Dungarvan so please feel free to bring your bikes, you can store them in the shed.
If you are looking for a base to explore the South East corner of Ireland then Sporthouse is for you.
