About this apartment rental

Summary:

Wake with the ocean in front of you, walk to the sand before breakfast, then come back to a sauna and two magnesium plunge pools downstairs. Sundays gives your group three bedrooms that each sleep a couple properly, and a curved terrace off the living room. There are two car spaces. One of our team meets you at the door with the keys.

The Space:

AT A GLANCE

- Three bedrooms that each sleep a couple: a king in the main, a queen in the other two

- Sleeps six comfortably: three couples, or two adults and four children

- 111 square metres all on one level, no stairs to carry anything up

- A fifteen square metre curved ocean terrace off the living room, screened against the midday sun

- Kitchen built for cooking together, island seating four, two ovens

- Two secure car spaces, which is rare this close to the beach

- Downstairs: sauna, hot and cold magnesium plunge pools, barbecue deck, 6am to 10pm

WHERE YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME

Most of it is in the front half. One open run of herringbone oak from the door through to the terrace, the glass corner on your left, the kitchen island on your right. Whoever is cooking stays in the conversation, and the water stays in view from nearly everywhere.

THE TERRACE, MORNING TO EVENING

Open the screens early and the sun comes up over the water while you are still on your first coffee. Slide the battens across in the middle of the day and the glare goes without the view going with it. By late afternoon the light runs low and gold along the coast. There is room for all six of you without moving furniture.

SLEEPING

Three bedrooms, and every one of them sleeps a couple properly. The main has a king, its own ensuite, and a door that shuts on the rest of the apartment. The two at the back have queens and face west, which is where the sunsets land.

BATHROOMS

Twin basins in the main, which matters when several people are getting ready at once. A second full bathroom with the same stone and shower.

Guest Access:

The whole residence is yours. Three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, the laundry, the terrace. Nothing is locked off, and you are not sharing the apartment with anyone.

Downstairs, the sauna, the two magnesium plunge pools and the barbecue deck are yours to use between 6am and 10pm. They are shared with the people who live here, so you may not have them to yourselves.

You get two secure car spaces and a lift straight up to level seven, which is worth having when you arrive with bags and boards.

The Neighborhood:

Palm Beach is the part of the southern Gold Coast that never went high-rise. The streets run straight down to the sand and the beach out front is a real surf beach, not a promenade.

Look north from the terrace and you follow the coast up to the Burleigh Heads headland. Just past it, Tallebudgera Creek opens to the sea, and the flat water there is where you take small children.

Burleigh is a short drive for dinner. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is close if you have kids to entertain.

Getting Around:

The beach is a short walk, straight across and down.

You have two car spaces and the Gold Coast Highway at the door, so Burleigh is minutes north and Currumbin and Coolangatta are south. Gold Coast Airport is a short drive, which makes this easy for a weekend from interstate.

Buses run along the highway both ways from stops near the building if you would rather leave the car.

Other Things to Note:

A few things worth knowing before you book, so nothing is a surprise.

The bedrooms are carpeted and the living areas are timber, in case anyone in the party minds either way.

The terrace screens filter the light rather than block it. They are for glare and privacy, not for making the room dark.

The plunge pools are for sitting in, one hot and one cold. They are not lap pools and they are not fenced like one, so children need an adult with them.

The building facilities are shared with residents and open 6am to 10pm. They are run by the body corporate, not by us.

People live here permanently, so sound carries between balconies at night.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 10am. The turnaround is tight and we would rather tell you now than let you down on the day.

The residence is fitted with Minut noise monitoring, which measures sound level only and does not record conversations. There are no cameras inside the home.

Interaction with Guests:

You are dealing with Aryve directly. We are here on the Gold Coast, not in a call centre somewhere else, and the person who picks up is the person who can sort it.

One of us meets you at the door and hands you the keys, so you arrive to a person instead of a lockbox and a code. Before you travel you will have everything in writing. Once you are in, we are a message away and otherwise we stay out of your holiday.
