About this house rental
Description
Three queen bedrooms, room for 8, and the whole town at your doorstep — welcome to Unsalted Tides.
Some beach houses were built last year. This one has been welcoming people since 1938 — a storybook brick Tudor in South Haven's coveted South Beach neighborhood, four blocks from Lake Michigan. Original character, modern comfort, and a location you simply can't build anymore.
THE SPACE
Unsalted Tides was made for gathering. Three second-floor bedrooms — each with a queen bed — mean three couples get a real bedroom of their own (no drawing straws for the good room). An additional sleeper sofa on the main floor comfortably round out space for up to 8.
Downstairs, the living room centers on a natural wood-burning fireplace — the heart of the house on a crisp fall evening or a snowy Michigan weekend. The dining area seats the whole crew for pancake mornings and taco nights, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook for a group.
3 bedrooms, all queen beds (2nd floor)
Main-floor sleeper sofa
Full bath (2nd floor), half bath (main floor), plus a shower & sink in the lower level — handy for rinsing off after the beach
Central A/C and heat — genuinely comfortable in every season
Wood-burning fireplace
Dogs & cats welcome — this is their vacation too
THE LOCATION — THIS IS THE ONE YOU WALK EVERYWHERE FROM
Park the car Friday and don't touch it again until Sunday:
4 blocks to Lake Michigan — sunset strolls are a nightly ritual
12-minute walk to South Beach (0.7 mi) — sugar-sand beach, the iconic red lighthouse, and Big Lake sunsets
7-minute walk to downtown Phoenix Street (0.3 mi) — restaurants like Taste, ice cream at South Pier Creamery, coffee shops, boutiques, and the harbor
You're close enough to walk to dinner with grandma and the kids, far enough back to enjoy quiet evenings on a classic tree-lined street.
FOUR SEASONS OF SOUTH HAVEN
Summer is beach days and the Blueberry Festival. Fall is color tours, wine country (a dozen wineries within 20 minutes), and bonfire-sweater weather by the fireplace. Winter brings a quiet, snow-globe version of town — and holiday gatherings with everyone under one roof. Spring means blossoms, charter fishing, and beating the crowds. With central heat and air, Unsalted Tides is built for all of it.
PERFECT FOR
Multigenerational trips and two families traveling together. Three private queen bedrooms mean the grandparents, parents, and aunts and uncles all sleep well — and the kids claim the sleeper sofas like it's the best fort ever built.
PET POLICY
$150 covers up to 2 dogs or cats for the whole stay — often less than a few nights of boarding, and your furry companion gets to be part of the trip instead of missing it. Traveling with more than 2 pets? Message us before booking; additional pets may be approved at the host's discretion for $75/pet.
