About this cottage rental
Our two bedroom self-catering cottage, 'Petite Maison Fougères', is set in a 7,000m² garden with mostly mature fruit trees.
It has an 8m x 4m above ground salt water swimming pool. Set in the beautiful Charente countryside with views of the green fields, the cottage is just 50 minutes from Limoges airport and a 5-minute drive from the nearest village, which has a supermarket, bar, bakery, butcher, ATM and post office. The house has been recently renovated (February 2024) and all doors and windows are fitted with double glazing.
The first bedroom has a king size bed, reversible air conditioning, a large wardrobe, dresser and bedside tables. The second bedroom is equipped with two single beds, reversible air conditioning, a wardrobe and a bedside table.
The kitchen has a Bosch fridge-freezer, an electric stove, a microwave, coffee makers (Senseo and filter), an electric kettle and plenty of storage space. Living/dining room with two double sofas, electric radiator, 32-inch TV (French and English channels), radio-CD with Bluetooth, DVD player and a selection of movies, as well as free 4G Wi-Fi access. A large round table can seat 4 people.
Bathroom equipped with a 100 x 80 cm shower with rain shower, sink and washing machine. Separate WC.
The garden has a covered dining area at the front with table and 4 chairs, as well as another table with 4 chairs.
The pool and garden are reserved for the exclusive use of the occupants of the gîte.
Games are available: badminton, swingball, petanque on the lawn and darts on the lawn.
Unfortunately we do not have an installation for electric vehicle charging; the nearest charging stations are in Montemboeuf.
We are located 20 minutes from the lakes of Haute-Charente, which offer a beach and two bar-restaurants. La Rochefoucauld is also 20 minutes away; the town has many shops and restaurants as well as a beautiful castle.
The Confolens rail bike is 40 minutes away; in July and August, tourist trains run on a vintage railcar. In high season, it is also possible to rent canoes and paddles to navigate the river.
We live right next door. We do not accept pets as we have catsl do not have facilities to charge electric cars (the nearest terminals are in Montemboeuf, 5 minutes away by car). Swimming pool open from May to the end of September, depending on weather conditions.

The house is newly refurbished (Feb 2024) All windows and doors double glazed.
One double bedroom with a king size bed and air conditioning/heating, large wardrobe and dresser, and bed side cabinets. Second bedroom with twin beds, air conditioning/heating, wardrobe and bedside cabinet.
Kitchen with Bosch fridge freezer, electric cooker, microwave, Senseo and filter coffee machines, electric kettle, plenty of storage space.
Lounge/diner with 2 double sofas, electric radiator, 32" TV with French and English channels, CD radio with Bluetooth connection, DVD player and selection of DVD's, free 4G wifi access A large round table seating 4 people.
Shower room with 100 X 80 cm shower with rainfall attachment, sink, and washing machine. Separate toilet.
Garden has a covered dining area to the front, with a table and 4 chairs, and an additional dining table and 4 chairs.
Swimming pool and garden is for exclusive use of guests at the gite.
Badminton,swingball,lawn petanque and lawn darts are available for you to enjoy.
Unfortunately we have no facilities for electric vehicle charging, the nearest points are in montemboeuf.

The velo rail at Confolens is 40 mins away, and in July and August runs tourist trains using a vintage railcar, also there are canoes and paddle boards for hire on the river in the main season.
We live next door, and unfortunately do not accept pets, as we have cats and we have no facilites for charging electric cars, nearest points are in Montemboeuf a 5 minute drive away. Pool open May to end September weather permitting
