Cozy, thoughtfully designed guest house with a lush botanical feel. Guests enjoy a private entrance, full kitchen & bathroom, & dedicated workspace. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this quiet setting offers the best of both worlds. Peaceful and private, yet less than 10 min to downtown Lexington, VMI, W&L, & VA Horse Center & 5 min to the Maury River & Chessie Trail. Outdoor seating & breezeway let you connect with nature. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.
The space
We live on 4 acres in a private neighborhood just off of the Chessie Trail & Maury River. While our neighborhood is secluded and full of wildlife, we are also centrally located — 10 minutes from downtown Lexington, VMI, W&L, & the Virginia Horse Center.
The Riverbend Retreat guest house is attached to the main house through a shared breezeway with a private entrance. We live in the main house. Guest can enjoy dedicated outdoor seating and dining areas, as well as the breezeway. Kayak rentals and river transportation are available at an additional cost.
Guest access
The outdoor area off the back of the breezeway and beside the fenced back yard is for dedicated guest use. Please do not go in the fenced back yard as we have two (very cute) dogs. The breezeway is also for guest use.
Other things to note
There is a sign guest for parking and a sign to direct you to the guest house entrance. The entrance is around the back of the house and through the breezeway. Once you get inside the breezeway, the door is on the left (the one covered in blue flowers). Please do not come to the front door, as that is the entrance for the main house, not the guest house.
