About this house rental
Canopy House comfortably sleeps up to five guests across two light-filled bedrooms, each surrounded by windows overlooking the palms and forest canopy. The primary suite features a king bed, a comfortable reading chair, and a serene en suite bathroom with a modern walk-in shower. Surrounded by windows overlooking the lush foliage, it's a peaceful place to begin and end each day. The guest bedroom offers a queen bed and a charming loft with a twin bed, creating a fun and memorable space for children or adventurous adults. A second full bathroom with a walk-in shower is conveniently located just outside the bedroom.
The modern, fully equipped kitchen is thoughtfully appointed with quality cookware and everything needed for effortless meals at home.
Perched among the trees, the private deck offers panoramic views of the Heddy Gutter Creek and the surrounding salt marsh. Framed by live oaks and the sounds of nature, it's a favorite place to gather for morning coffee, alfresco meals, or quiet evenings beneath the canopy. Lounge seating and an outdoor dining bar invite you to linger a little longer.
Beneath the main living space is a glass-lined studio overlooking the marsh-a quiet retreat for creativity, work, or reflection. Whether you're sketching, painting, writing, working remotely, or simply watching the tide roll through the creek, the studio invites you to slow down. An easel, canvases, and brushes are available for guests, but no artistic experience is necessary. Many visitors find themselves spending time here simply because it's one of the most peaceful places in the home.
The Landscape That Never Looks the Same Twice
No two days at Canopy House are exactly alike
High tide transforms Heddy Gutter Creek into a winding ribbon of water stretching deep into the marsh. At low tide, the intricate textures emerge, revealing the rhythms shaped by centures of tidal movement. Wildlife is part of everyday life here. Great blue herons, snowy egrets, white ibises, and other wading birds frequent the marsh. Dolphins occasionally enter the creek to strand feed during certain seasons, while deer quietly wander through the neighborhood each day, often accompanied by fawns in the spring. Even the tiny squareback marsh crabs have their own curious habit of climbing trees by the deck.

Canopy House grew from our love of architecture, international travel, and the Carolina Lowcountry.
We believe the best places don’t demand your attention—they quietly earn it. They invite you to slow down, notice the changing light, follow the tides, watch the wildlife, and reconnect with the people you’re with.
Whether you’re exploring Sea Pines by bike, spending the afternoon at the beach, or simply watching the marsh from the windows, we hope Canopy House becomes a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
