About this apartment rental
This compact 30 m² studio is located on the first floor—one level above street level—of the Riviera Palace residence on Rue des Lilas, in the upper part of Monte Carlo, a quiet residential neighborhood a short walk above the Casino and the port.
The space is a single open room designed for one or two people: a double bed, a small living and dining area, and a kitchenette for light cooking. Air conditioning keeps it comfortable throughout the summer, and there’s heating for cooler months. The private bathroom has a shower (no bathtub), a toilet, a hair dryer, and fresh towels.
The kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, and an electric kettle. There’s a washing machine in the apartment—useful for longer stays—plus free Wi-Fi throughout and a flat-screen TV. The building has an elevator.
The neighborhood
Rue des Lilas is a residential area rather than a touristy one. Three restaurants are located within about 100 meters—Il Terrazzino, La Crémaillère, and AlexTony—and you’ll find bakeries, small supermarkets, cafés, and a pharmacy within a few minutes’ walk, so you can shop and eat locally rather than at Monte Carlo prices.
From here, the rest of the Principality is easily accessible. Église Saint-Charles is 350 m away, the Monaco–Monte Carlo train station about 700 m, the Princess Grace Rose Garden 1.1 km, Larvotto Beach 1.2 km, and the Grimaldi Forum less than a kilometer. The Prince’s Palace and the Oceanographic Museum are about 2 km away. Casino Square, the Café de Paris, and the Carré d’Or shopping streets are an easy walk downhill.
Getting around
Monaco is built on a hillside, and this apartment is located above the seafront. It’s a quick walk down to the port, the station, or the beach. On the way back up, most guests use Monaco’s network of free public elevators and walkways, which connect the different levels of the city, or take the local bus. Good to know before you book: if you’d prefer to avoid any inclines at all, a seafront location would be a better fit for you.
There is no parking at the property. Public underground parking garages are nearby, but they require payment and fill up during major events.
