About this apartment hotel
Settle into Beaver House and you'll understand immediately why Haliburton Forest keeps people coming back. This pet-friendly, three-bedroom unit at Base Camp offers generous space for 6 guests — the kind of comfortable, relaxed setup that makes a weekend getaway feel like a proper holiday.
The sleeping arrangements are ideal for mixed groups: a double bed in one bedroom, and two single beds in each of the other two. The propane fireplace anchors a cozy living space where everyone can gather, and the full kitchen gives you everything you need to cook properly — stove, full-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and kettle, with all cookware and dishes included. A three-piece bathroom and a cozy back deck overlooking the forest complete the picture. Linens, pillows, facecloths, towels, dish soap and hand soap are all provided. To be environmentally conscious the units are not supplied with any single use products. Please bring your own coffee (we have filters for the machine), tea, spices, shampoo, conditioner and soap for the shower.
The back deck is Beaver House's quiet gem — a shaded, forested outlook for morning coffees, evening wine, or a quiet moment while the kids run around. It's what makes this unit feel distinctly more private than the others.
Pets are very welcome.
For a larger gathering of 10 to 12, The Bear Den is right across the hallway.
Everything at Base Camp is within easy reach: the Camp Store, the Boshkung Smokehouse, and the Wolf Centre — where you can get closer to wild wolves than almost anywhere else in Ontario cottage country. 400 kms of trails and gravel roads await you for biking, trail running, hiking, as well as over 100 lakes for paddling, swimming, and fishing.
Cook smores over a fire at one of our communal firepits, enjoy an outdoor game from our games shed and be sure to test your skills finding our hidden Geocaches!
When planning your trip be sure to book our guided experiences ahead of time: Canopy Tour, Clay Target Shooting, Ice Fishing, Fly Fishing, Tin Boat Fishing and/or one of our many exceptional experiences through Yours Outdoors and the Wolf Centre: Dinner With Wolves, Guided Fishing, Glassblowing, etc.
Don't have your own gear? We rent canoes, bikes, snowshoes AND snowmobiles!
